Default WIND RIVER

Does any one know about a rumored change in the regulations? I've heard they might go to fin clipped fish only.

I heard last year that they were targetting this year as the first that they would have clipped fish returning. If that is the case, I would imagine they will go to fin-clipped only. Study's in the past showed nearly all the fish caught at the mouth, were Wind River hatchery fish. If that is the case and they are clipping all their fish, it shouldn't make that much difference.

I know that I never did see a clipped fish last year, so it makes me wonder.

The guy at the hatchery says that they were forced to clip to keep Federal money and their federal hatchery status. He does not expect to have to catch fin clipped only until 2006. For this year we may be able to go utside the buoy line for fin clipped clear to The Dalles Dam , but would stay the same inside the buoy lies unclipped ok
