Default Garibaldi 8/28 Update

Solo on the Sweet Louise...the "flock of hens" that I was to take fishing, per my wife's request, would not get up (too many empty wine bottles in the morning) so I ended up going alone.

It was a nice ocean and I landed a couple Silvers.

The chatter on the radio was similar by most accounts, lots of natives and very little talk of the Kings.

180 to 250' between Twin Rocks and Nehalem at 20' to 75' down...same old thing...

One issue I ran into were the groups that thought it was ok to crab in the channel. It looked like a waterskiing course in front of the Coast Guard boat house...there were crab bouys strung all the way across...when I came back in they were gone so I don't know if someone told them or they figured it out.

We will be going out Wed-Sunday this week...tuna?

Not sure if this is the reason or not but I know that the clam guys will leave a string of "crabpot" style buoys out, with buckets attached to haul up their clams and also to deter boats from coming too close.

Thanks for the report. I am tentatively planning on Fri/Sat Halibut run from Garibaldi. With a little luck maybe some Tuna will be within reach. (40mi or less for the Hinterhoeller) If not, then will try to target Kings.
