Default Another newbie

Hello All, I just wanted to say hi and tell ya what a great site this is!

I have lived in Oregon most my life(Willamette Valley)and just started Salmon fishing a few years ago.(wish I would have started sooner but better late than never!)It all started when my wifes family who live in Alaska had a family reunion and I got to do a little Silver fishing. Till then I have been caught up in hunting so much that fishing got put on the back burner till I tried Salmon fishing and now I am hooked like you wont believe! Yep I am a rookie but still love the sport,I mostly fish the S.Santiam for Springers but have also fished the Alsea a little during the fall but have had a lot more luck on the Santiam. So far my biggest fish was a 30 pounder off of Winchester Bay and my largest for the river was a 24 pounder. Small stuff for most folks here but they seemed really big for a trout fishermen! Sorry for the long post, just wanted to say Hey!

Good post and welcome aboard.

This is indeed the best fishing site for the west coast. There is none better. Thanks to Jen and the mods.

30# and 24# sound like some nice fish to me. I'll take that all day long. Welcome aboard and look forward to hearing when you get that big one that we are all looking for. The biggest I ever saw caught was my buddy out on rays boat the herbie. 62# it blew me away. I want one. cheers and good fishing.
