Default Wind River

Anyone been fishing outside the mouth of the Wind River in the last few days? Thinking about making a trip down there this weekend.

I have driven by several times in the last couple of weeks and there have been very few people out fishing. However, Rolf at Wind Mtn.Grocery (NOT home valley market ) sez the fishing has been pretty good. Lots of people fishing Drano and the big white, been off and on. Call Rolf for a current report 509 427 2288. Let me know how you do.

story time....I drove down there with intentions to launch at drano but drano was too blown out for me and my little boat,..... on the way to see herman creek for the first time I stopped at the wind when I saw a bunch of cars parked at the R.R.tresle, got there in time to see three elderly guys under the tresle with one having a fish on....he got it to the bank, pulled it up flopping around...they were taking forever to get the hook out...finally the guy takes his thumb and shoves it in the gills to get better hold of it....still not being able to take the hook out they finally cut the line and then throw the fish back....of course it went belly up, then they take a stick and start poking it and then it starts to barely kind of swim away...kinda P.O.ed....I told the guy that they were not supposed to take a fish out of the water til I.D.ed as a clipped fish and then asked if he felt good about shoving that thumb in the gills and if he thought that fish would survive, also asked him if he was teaching his kids that stuff....the guy asked me "whats it to me"? told him that fish maybe responsible for future fish that I might catch and that if I have to follow laws I will do my part to see others do also. .....to all the idiots out there: DON`T MESS WITH MY OR WITH MY KIDS FUTURE FISH!! think it would help if I had a cell phone to call the gami`s? for those that do and have did the gami`s ever show up? by the way... was not impressed with herman creek.....too many people, too many boats....looked like people fishing over a 5 gallon bucket and no one catching anything....gawd, looked like everyone was having sooo much fun(sarcastic), if this is what fishing is all about maybe I will have to find something else. we fishermen are starting to remind me of the movie jaws where they show all these people with rifles in boats and yelling at each other....and just having a gay ole time if this is where fishing is going I am starting to wish it would just get banned. at one time I was really hoping to get my wife and daughter into the fishing, but with these area`s there is NO WAY, too many morons at least with salmon/steelhead.

What I like to do is, find out where everyone is fishing, then go somewhere else.
