My spinners?
Here is my first crack at making spinners. What do you think? Any of these dogs hunt?

Re: My spinners?
Look good to me. Let us know when you land a fish with those. How much does it cost to make those? As far as material and supply.

Re: My spinners?
Roughly
.15 per wire
a few cents a bead
.60 per hook
about .02 for the tubing
blades vary -the fancy ones were 1.49 the others I got for about .10.
Anyone know where to get the blades on the top for less? I was thinking about getting an airbrush and doing it myself unless I find a cheaper spot.

Re: My spinners?
I like the trebbles too, but the siwash barbless hook spinners work great for Ocean Coho

Re: My spinners?
They look great, but multi-person field testing is always needed to confirm any suspicions, better send out a few to us 'product testers'
Good job!

Re: My spinners?
Those look great. My question would be about using the tubing on the siwash hook. Wouldn't having the hook fixed to face only one way handicap you on hooking a fish? If it doesn't, please let us know. I'm a big fan of the treble for trolling with or without the tubing for more hook up potential. It's worked for me. When I'm casting I'll use a siwash but let it hang free to swing about to up the increase of the point finding cartilage to bite into.

Re: My spinners?
Thanks Rick. I'll do some experimenting next month. Remember this is virgin ground for me so I'll have to figure it out with some on the water testing.
Trebles might be better but I'll have to try some of both to see. I've had good success with singles on plugs so I thought I'd carry them over to my spinners.
Still looking for some cheaper cascade blades if anyone knows of any.

Re: My spinners?
How much difference is there between the cascade and the "wide" willowleaf blades?
Between the colorado and the cascade which do use more? Or have more faith in?

Re: My spinners?
Great post, lots of good info here.
When fishing with wobblers, I had to adjust wobbler to match the current speed, as the tide changed.
My questions.
With spinners, what angle should the blade make relative to the shaft of the spinner?
How do the same size bladeds, but diffirent shapes, open up.
Anyone would like to explanin.

Re: My spinners?
Glowball Backwards, Those look very nice...also great advice given by all... blood red beads...go with the treble, i use #1 #2 VMC..they seem to match up good with the 4 and 4.5 blades...one other thing really important i learned when i started is you should make sure that the eyes are as straight as possible in relation to the shaft, Top and bottom..they run more true. Wire is cheap..don't be afraid to break them down and start over. Hope they pay-off

Re: My spinners?
Look good. Gotta like Owner trebles and Hidebrandt Colorados with red and/or green beads too. I also like to dip my trebles and tubing in some Smelly Jelly every once in a while and make sure the blade stays nice and shiny with some Simichrome polish.

Re: My spinners?
I picked up some owner trebles today for my next batch. I'll do a little on the water comparison in the near future. I think I'm going to air brush my next batch of blades rather than paying 1.50 a blade. No one seems to sell the fancy painted blades for a reasonable price. Oh well this way I'll be a little more different than I already am.
