Open Seat (Pic Results)
I have room for one tomorrow (Friday, January 16th) on the coast. Leaving out of Corvallis in the am. Hoping to get some poor bank-ridden student a boat ride. Help a bit with gas and bait and you're in. Call Ben @ (503) 307-6457. First come, first served.

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
Fair day today. Good weather but not too many fish for all the pressure and all the effort. Managed this rosy brat on a shrimp
Willametteriveroutlaw meanwhile managed this chrome nate on a plug
All in all a good day and much better than going to work/school.

If it is the Siletz, the first fish would be a late summer...

OMG!! Look how beautiful that fish is..all fins intact and sticking out...the only problem is that it is out of the water. I wonder if <petunia> would approve of this?? Hmmmmm...Can of worms??

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
GRB,
Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black BTW, the one day I forget my hat Its sunny and makes the shine in the Pic even worse.
MC,
Even a Blind squirrell finds an acorn once in a while (hey now I am 1 for 10 04').
Salmonator,
I would bet dollars for doughnuts that that is a winter.
Mr Dorkfish,
As far as the pic, the fish was out of the water for 10 seconds for the pic and another 15 or 20 for treble hook removal.. (no net was used and the fish was gentally beached) the camera was ready bofore the fish was landed (ben has a pic of me fighting it) so no extra time was taken for the camera to warm up. So when you figure out a way to land a nate with a mouth full of trebles and another swinging off to the side W/O a net and still keep it in the water let me know and if its coming out for hook removal procedure.. its getting its picture taken.
BTW, Ben thanks for a great time..

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
WRO, I like maple bars If it is a Siletz fish, it is either a summer or a mis-clipped winter. I've caught plenty of summers that bright well into January. I'm betting it is a summer judging by the color/girth/clip. Nice fish regardless.
P.S. I made the mention to get a location out of you

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
Salmonator it looked like every other Alsea-Strain Brat I have see this year, the picture makes it look a little snakier than it actually was. It had just been in the system a while.

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
There's no Alsea strain winter fish in the Siletz. So you were on the Alsea? And I DIDN'T say snaky!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Just caught this: I don't know what your trying to stirr up here.. But A) Getting religious opinions involved is pretty stupid. (sp B) native steelhead pictures have been pretty standard on ifish since pics were allowed on the board. (Native spinger Pic discussions are a can of worms that has sat in the sun way too long)
I didn't do anything wrong, no laws were broken, you are just looking for a brion Lutz style <petunia> match to begin.
Whats the point of calling on Jennie, she most likely has much more important things to worry about than some guy named louis whining about seeing a fish out of the water .
If you want to have a discussion about it... Start a new thread.. I don't want everyone seeing my bald <petunia> head .

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
DanS, Nope, not a bad day at all..just being me  People can do what they want. I'm just expressing my opinion, I had a funny thought the day i read this post....i said "Hmmmm" What would be the equivelent to WRO holding a Nate like that out of water?? Ok..picture this, i'd have you close your eyes but you couldn't read this.. Anyway, WRO is mind'n his own bid....ness, walking along side a beutiful river...and all of a sudden  This scaly creature comes out of nowhere and throws this sharp hook-like device into his Petunia Scared to death...and not knowing what is going on because this has never happened to him before (one salt human) He releases bodily fluids all over himself, He starts to tire...slowly being pulled toward the scaly creature...then before he can grasp his last breath of air...the creature pulls his bald head under water... first for only about 9 or 10 seconds, (to get a pic to show his buddies) Then for about 15 or 20 more seconds to get the hook out of his Petunia, Wonder if he survived.

Re: Open Seat (Pic Results)
Weekend warrior has seen my bald head under the water a few times.. I seemed to come out no worse for the wear (except for the missing hair part). And actually that has happened to me. get all worn out fighting a fish, rod slips out of my hands, over the side my bald <petunia> goes.. Get the rod back in the boat, back under the water, than back into the boat  . (plus surgery was done semi-submerged)
Be a man, flame a well liked guide instead of some bald cracker .
