Default Limb Saver

Anyone have one of these? I tried one out at a recent conference and want to put it on my Remington 700, 300 supermag...There seem to be two types, screw on and slipover? I'd prefer the slipover and there seem to be a couple made for remingtons. Are they universal to all models? Thanks....

I think the slip overs are. I put a screw in one on my 300WSM and it was made for the rifle-the screws fit in the exact same holes. Made quite a difference I thought. Now it only rocks you a little more than my beloved .270

Bill they are commercially available in designs to fit many shotguns and rifles specifically. As you saw they also have the slip overs. I am not sure if the slip on is a 'one size fits all' or not, but they are in the Cabela's catalog if you want to check options.(only place i have seen them) I haven't looked, but I would imagine they are also available locally.

Yeah..took about 5 minutes. That really do fit quite well. There is a small spacer pad that goes between your stock and the pad-take a sharp knife and just trim that when your done-you could run a piece of painters tape on the stock if you were worried about nicking your stock but I had no problems

Limb Saver actually makes rubber vibration dampening products for bows. They have expanded into recoil pads. I have a couple of them on my guns and they work well. I recommend them.

Here is the web page. For more info, Limbsaver Website They are sold at G.I. Joes and also Fishermans. I have been meaning to get one for my .300 WBY but haven't got around to it. Actually need it more for my .280 since it kicks worse then the .300

Remington OEMs most of the screw on models for sale as Remington recoil pads. This prevents you from getting many of the models that will fit the 700 without going to a slip on or to remington directly. The 700 BDL is a model that only Rem sells. They are spendy from Remington $28 bucks or so. I opted for the sip on for my 700 BDL but have screw on version for other guns.

I actually got one with the Remington label for $25 that had the "LimbSaver technology" disclaimer, so assume it's the same...fit my 700 perfectly, although use the package screws because the factories are too long with the new pad.

Shot it today...no stitches...in fact, while it's got a whole lot more punch than my 270, I was able to handle it...flinched just once...first pattern was only four inches in diameter...not bad for a geezer...

I'm a believer. My 15YO son would only put 3 or 4 rounds down the range through his .06 before the limbsaver....now I can't give him enough ammo! He's shooting much more, and therefore more accurately because he's not afraid to shoot the thing. I bought a "factory fit" one for his M70 and it fit perfectly.

I'm going to go look for one today for my .338. Maybe if I shot it more ( 24 rounds in 19 years) Keta wouldn't think I was such a wimp. I think it's a much better alternative than a brake....at least for your friends.
