Default Seahawk Shakedown Report thus far

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this boat. Last Saturday I logged roughly 72 miles out in the ocean running out of Newport chasing Halibut and Bottom Fish. 20 of those miles were in a 3 to 4 foot wind chop. She handled great with three adults, lots of gear, and 70 gallons of go juice. The Yamaha 150 4 stroke burned 22.7 gallons of fuel that day. Is that awesome or what You gotta love the efficiency of the 4 strokes. The 42 degree entry was amazing and she sliced through the rough stuff with ease.

If any of you Seahawk owners have any questions about getting that hatch on the offshore bracket 100 percent waterproof, PM me and I can tell you how. I got 25 hours on the motor and thus far I wouldn't change a thing on that boat. Tomorrow will be my first day sitting on a hook fishing for Salmon in her so we will see how she treats me with that. I gotta remember there is a twirly thing in the water when Mr. Summer nook get's close to the boat, sure would hate to loose one to the prop

I got a Lowrance LMS-480. I really like the unit. It is a Sonar/Gps with lots of user friendly stuff. I run a fixed VHF with a 5 foot ant. and carry a back up hand held GPS and back up hand held VHF.

If you plan on doing some offshore fishing this puppy is for you

I've only heard of the "Ma Barker Gang" but I SAW most of the "Ma Dipnet Gang" today.

Only one that was not there I guess was one who can't catch fish in fresh water, but guess even he was on the cell phone.

Hmmmm......they were all the same kind of boat's too.

Your NR can't be that great Dipnet. It won't even sit straight on the river. Must be a flaw in that one. You better call Scott right away and ask him why.

Nice seeing you too!!! See if we ever try to save your spot again  !!

Besides, Scott would probably say it's supposed to sit that way 2  !!

You better watch yourself, you'll be surrounded by the Wild Bunch next time you're on the river !! And by the way, how come there's about 50 of our kind of boats to one of yours

Boy your comments are really making me giddy, supposed to be hooking my new Seahawk up to the truck in Clackamas about 16th of the month!

Sending you a PM regarding the Inspection Hatch!
