Default California Watermelon/Glad Clown(pics)

If any of you are looking for these hard to find colors they have a few at FMS in OC. I was there at 3pm and they had at least 6 of each color in K13,14,15,16. They also had 1 K14 in a color I had never seen before - "Pinkeye". Looked like it had promise. It was a chrome base, with flo pink/red on both ends, on the sides it had gold scale and a green tiger stripe. I'll let ya know if it works . Anyway, if you want the other 2 colors go get 'em quick  .
Watermelon on left, clown on right.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Glad Clown is chrome based, pink butt with green striping down the sides.

On another note. You guys have got to check out Bobs booth at the Sportsmans show. I talked to Brad today and he said he's going to run his kwikies a little off the normal price. They have a bunch of new colors custom painted for them. Some of the base jobs like fickle pickle with spots painted on em, double trouble with spots. Most of them are basic kwiks with spots painted in different colors on them. They look really good. I had to leave there today before I went broke.

Never heard them called "mad clowns". There may be another color that is called "mad clown" though I have no idea. As for the "glad clown", you are correct Steelheadslayer except it has green chrome scale down the sides with a chartruse tiger stripe over the top. It's a great color. But then again I think it's only about 10% color and the rest is location, rigging, scent, etc. But for my 10% these are 2 good colors that were very hard to find last year. Take a look through the archives and you'll see what I mean. Just trying to hook some fellow IFishers up  . Take care all.

Thanks Rimshot, those look yummy, if I was a fish I would eat them  I picked up a fickle pickle at joes last visit, had the clown in hand and had to choose just one since honey was present. I'll sneak back over there and get the glad clown and hopefully I can pick up the watermelon at the sportsman show.

Well, I know for a fact there are two less of the K-14 Watermelons at Fisherman's in Oregon City.

I got ahold of one of the California Watermelons last year, but I only got to use it for about 10 minutes. I anchored above Coon Island and threw it out there naked (no bait wrap), and about ten minutes later a sturgeon grabbed it and screamed downstream! I was by myself, and I had trouble fighting the fish while trying to release the anchor, so the sturgeon broke my line. Anyway, I'm excited to know of a lure that will catch springers and gators!

I keep hearing about the California watermelon but have never been lucky enough to find one. Could someone post a pic of what it looks like?
