Default New net on the market, way cool

Just picked up a new net that will be given away this Thursday at the meeting of the TV Chapter of NW Steelheaders in Aloha. (By the way, Bob Reese will be the guest speaker.) The net is designed for catch and release, but I think it will be great for Kwikies as the hooks should not tangle. The entire basket is made of a rubber web. Not rubber diped or coated, all ribber. It stretches pretty good to help hold the fish, and I have hopes the the kwikie hooks will not get caught in the webbing. The manufacturer I believe Cummings. Not in any stores yet but there is a store in Clackamas area, just off 405 at hwy 224 (I think that the number) and a guy named Gary can get them. For those of you that fish Nat Slimerockets or are involved in the Brood Stock Program, this new net is absolutely perfect.

Is Gary a sponsor? If anyone wants exact directions I live within 10 blocks of his store. PM me. He is really an awesome asset for local fishing reports. Always more than generous with info that is substantiated.

The net sounds great, but is it big enough for chinook?

I have one and it works great for steelhead but I get some funny looks when I take it out on the wilson, but I think that is due to its lack of deepness, I did see on at GI J's the other that was made for Salmon, much deeper and wider but made of the same material. I belive thay are called Farbill????

There are 3-4 sizes. The one we will give away is steelhead/springer size. Could use it for fall nookers, but too small. They do have a large, large for nookers. I plan to use this same size for Springers but might go to next size bigger. The othere cool thing is the handle is octagon/hexigon shaped and not round. I'll post how it performs in March after I have landed a few on Kwikies

Roger, meeting is tomorrow night, 1-15

Rusyoar, NOT a frabill, it is Cumings. From what I was told none are in stores in our area yet. I believe you have a rubber coated net. This basket is pure rubber web.
