Default Seattle area and Olympic Peninsula

I just joined Ifish. I retired recently in Seattle. I was born and raised in Portland but I left there 30 years ago. I'd like to move back, probably to Vancouver area, but I can't talk that woman who lives in my house into the idea.

I used to fish the Trask, Wilson, Sandy, Springers etc. and I still come down to OR for the fall chinook run at Tillamook Bay and for Springers.

I fish Puget Sound a lot (Blackmouth fishing has really gone downhill), the Strait, BC and the Olympic Peninsula Rivers (Bog, Hoh, Sol Duc).

I would appreciate any news on fishing in these areas. The Bog has been really good for hatchery fish (Dec/Jan run) and the natives will start up around mid Feb and run into April. Lot of wild fish around there. For example, there is a one fish daily limit on wild steelhead, and poss limit of two on all the rivers. Not that I recommend killing wild fish, but it does illustrate that those runs are strong.

This Ifish discussion board is a real asset. I don't know of anything like this for NW Washington. Does anyone know if there is a good discussion board for us northern guys?

The other site that troller was trying to mention is actually PiscatorialPursuits. (Just click the words, it'll take you there) You don't have to register like steelheader and they're a pretty friendly group as well.

We are starting up a new chapter of Puget Sound Anglers on the Eastside. The meeting will be near Redmond on 148th Ave. you will find plenty of friendly faces there. Our first meeting is going to be in February. It would be nice to see some local ifisher's from the Seattle area there. Shoot me an e-mail if any body wants more info, I am the Vice President for the new chapter.
