Where did the fishing reports go?
What happened to the fishing reports? There is a lot of good information on this site, but there are not that many fishing reports anymore. I like to use this site to find out where the best bite is. It is hard to find current reports. Is everyone still mad about what happened during the fall season? There are always going to be crowds during that time of year. Granted, it does seem to be getting worse. Please don't stop posting reports. Most people that fish in the fall aren't as crazy as the Winter Steelhead fishermen. You don't get that number of people that you do in the fall. The winter is my favorite time of year. You get some of the best fighting fish, and you usually get to fish by yourself. So once again, please don't stop posting reports.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Why don't you start us off by posting a report of your own...good or bad?? I posted a report 2 weeks ago....Winter Steel on the Washougal. There were several reports about Sturgeon as of late....maybe check the site more often. If this is your favorite time of year...you probably have a few holes you like to catch fish....tell the rest of us about it!!

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Seems to me when the fishing heats up, the reports slow down.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
It is give and get around here friend, we were all lurkers at one time some longer then others. Now that you are on board and when you start to (give reports) you will be given them back  . I sure get a kick out of the new guys that give reports I will sometimes post a report and other times e mail it to a few people, these are not people I know most of the time. Some are people that have posted reports and or have e mailed me a report.
You may just like to read the reports and don't have time to fish much , I read the classsifides a lot and never have the money to buy things most of the time  .

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
If I go, you can be sure I will report...
I am sure some cringe when they see my name up on the board and report my days but you can be assured I will report as long as all the negativity stays away...
You will also see me post tutorials for what they are worth and the occasional open seats I will have...
I just have a demanding job and I don't fish as much as some but I do get my share in...
Tight Lines and keep looking for those worthwhile or worthless Hog Hunter Reports.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Many times specific information is shared via private messages courtesy of i-fish. It is truly unfortunate that people get critical, thin skinned, and down right holier than thou.
For the most part though many folks are good enough to give up some pointers, techniques and sometimes the coveted locations of prime fishing water. The latter is pretty rare now days and thats okay. We all have our secret spots to fish. WE learn where they are and then camp on them all night just to get the oppertunity to fish there.
Just let me know and I'll tell ya where 5-cents, ******, KHH and the whole lot fishes. Just be prepared to have the answer be "in the river".

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
The NF Alsea is hot as a pistol right now. It is already crowded, so look for water between Mill Creek and the hatchery, find a deep spot without a crowd, and start fishing it. The most productive way to catch them is with a spinner casted straight upstream, and retrieved straight downstream as slow as you can, still keeping the blade turning. A metallic blue Blue Fox works great, as does a chrome Buds spinner. Size 3-6 are all producing. Fish were still moving during the daylight, as of today.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Thanks to all those who replied. That helps clear up my questions. When I say reports, I am not asking for specifics. I too sometimes leave out some details when giving reports. I just wanted to know why there weren't as many reports anymore.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
I see lots of reports. I posted one just day before yesterday.
I think what's happening is that there are so MANY threads, that some get lost.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
A lot of times when you post a report, it gets picked apart so bad you loose interest in doing it again.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Mark, with a report like that I'm thinking you have a pay-to-park lot somewhere near a deep hole without a crowd  If there was such a place

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Joe, thats not a bad idea.... I'm gonna bring my shovel tomorrow and start scooping out the gravel. You know where I have been fishing, why haven't I seen you over there? (I'll be there tomorrow)

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
Snow and ice come to mind, my boat and gear has so much dust on it from lack of use the last 3 weeks.

Re: Where did the fishing reports go?
This horse has been beaten a few times in the last few days, but here goes again. The reason that there aren't many reports is that people realize that sharing there favorite hole with 6K + people isn't the brightest thing to do.. Even general reports on rivers can increase traffic in said areas. I personally won't share a report because I have put in my work to find fish and don't like helping freeloaders and don't really want anymore company where I fish. (exception to that is when I post kenai peninsula reports in the summer because I am pretty sure there won't be a influx of people where I am fishing) i have no problems sharing what works or methods. Truth be told, the best fishing reports you can get are the ones you make or get from trusted friends.
