Harpoons at the beach
For those of you who missed out, I will have a dozen or so harpoons at Newport, complete set-ups with rope and handle. PVC or wood handles, I have both. I also have a few bamboo handle 6'x3" gaffs.
Last ones, after these are gone, I am out of the harpoon making game.
If you want details or want me to hold you one, shoot me an email or give me a call. I won't be down until about 5am Thursday, but I can deliver then.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Well Threemuch,
I'll just put it here.
It goes a little sumpthin' sumpthin' like this...
Hey Kurt,
Go ahead and put me down for one of the tri-cut point 'poon-jobbers.
I'm not looking for a complete set up, just the point with the cable will due just fine.
See you down there.
Making sparks,
Ragnar

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Change of plans, I will be down at the beach Wed night , so if you want to get delivery of a harpoon then, give me a call.
Only one gaff left , I might make more of those before tuna starts. This is it for harpoons, at least until next year. If you want one, speak up, when they are gone, they are gone. If you ask, I will hold one for you.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Kurt, I'll take the last gaff.
Gotta have a matched set for that big fish that is just around the corner.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Tell you what Mr. F, let me bestow it on some poor gaffless person, and I will make you one from the next batch. I have a line on some bigger hooks, so maybe I will make you a swordfish special.

Kurt, I'm still in for one harpoon. Sorry I haven't squared up with you yet... will you be at the coast on Friday?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Harpoons at the beach
 You know me too well
Tell you what... So long as it will handle Bluefin and Bill I'll wait. My idea was 2 good long gaffs anyway.
Who needs the Royal Star ?

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Mark,
I will hold one for you. Based on the size of your boat, you will need the PVC handle, or maybe even something longer.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
have you got a picture? Let me know on next batch, How much are they? Since I dont have a harpoon for this trip I plan on roping the tail, gaffing the head and hold on tight for a SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Choo Choo-
There won't be a next batch, at least not this year. If you are down in Newport, you will probably see one on one of the salty dog's boats, or you can see me, and I can show them to you.
Greg,
I have been checking my PMs and email, but the last one I got from you was 06/11/03. I know you emailed and said you wanted a harpoon back in February, but we never hooked up. Just post what you want here and I will hold it for you.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Threemuch: I want a tri-tip harpoon. I will be using it from a Dory, which has pretty high sides. I'll take your advice on whether I need a wood or PVC handle.
I won't be in Newport, but I live in Oceanside and I am in Portland several times a week. Let me know when and if you can meet for a handoff. I am not in a hurry. Or, I could pay for shipping. Thanks.

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Don't have time to read the whole thread but if there are any poons left I'd take another one for a total of two. If not, no big deal. Thanks Kurt, see ya down there. I'm just heading out the door!

Re: Harpoons at the beach
Two poon tips with cable, one complete poon, and a gaff.
Any single item or combination there of would be fine.
