Default Gettin\' Ready

The backordered depthfinder arrived yesterday. We should have it ready to go by the weekend( crossed fingers gremlin).

Dunno if it will be ready by then or not( boat is still moored on the MC). But we should make it down, color GPS or not. I need do an after work shad trip this week.

I might call Charlie and see what he is doin Sunday. I gotta kill some bugs at his beach house( located 5 minutes from the Garibaldi ramp ) on Sat or Sun. Might as well multi task when we are there!

It sounds like a chinook trip. Dawn aint all fired up about 64 oz leads and 900' of water for one fish. To tell the truth, I aint either. Kinda sounds like elk hunting to me....Those that work real hard get some chances once in a while. Maybe later Lumpy and I will put a "Guy trip" together and I can learn about flatties. If not, it gives me something to look forward to next year.

No matter. Our time is here folks.

Here is to no winds and flat bars

Will be on 16VHF. "Red Dawn" is the vessel.

Mark and the cheerleading for fish dog.

Puffin,

if you are joking, it helps to add smiley faces to your post to clarify. Like this

If you are serious about me "lacking heart" lemme fill you in on a few things.
1- My running partner is out of comission. I am not gonna blindly ask for a running partner in Ifish, because I may end up with an "Adriannia". And that "angle" aint one I wanna work.
2- My crew is green on flatties and so am I. Until I have someone I trust to be capable on board to help show me the ropes, I aint going.
4-My crew is not green on Chinooks. Nuff said?
5- My boat is an open sled. You wanna run 20 plus miles out with me? I figure the kings can be found inside 10 miles. Double the distance equals double the risk. If not more.

If you were indeed joking, then all is well. If you were not, you may want to be a bit better informed before offering your opinion on my decisions as the Cap'n of my ship.

Mark and the dog.

Mark- where's you boat moored in the Channel? I'm at Scappoose (Channel Moorage actually, A-11). Just wondering if you and the Soon to be Seagoing Dog are dock neighbors?

Mark, you need to meet 'Puffin', a great guy if there ever was a fisherman who is a great guy. He says what he is thinking ... and now he types it on Ifish.

Sounds like fun, nooks in Garibaldi. You might ask Corrirod what he thinks about where to fish .. he had a 17 fish day about 5 miles out from Three arch rocks 2 weeks ago.

Where do you crab out there? I do pretty good along the sandy beach south of the south jetty in 40 feet of water. Limits and then some.

Mark, that open Aluma-tub of yours is barely big enough for Coon island shad

By the way, had a great time getting to know you a little yesterday - be safe out there this weekend. I'm still considering a trip out on the ocean this weekend if I can find some gas that's less than $5 a gallon

And don't mind Puffin - just rejoice in the fact that your dog probably types faster than him Puffin probably accessed the internet from a re-wired Commodore 64 via sattelite from 15 miles offshore. He's a true mountain man...

Miss B-

Scappoose boat moorage. Dunno which row, but it is slip 22. A couple down from "Fish Hawk" Joe. Same row. Will head there tonite to pull her out for the season. :depressed:

KT- thanks for the conversation.
We almost had to get some totes for the tule fest . Hopefully the crabs wont care if they were bright or not. .

Pilar,
we drop the pots wherever we can. Outside, there seem to be enough for everyone. Lumpy's dad may be in the know on nookers( he had Corrid's job for a few years). I think he is still in contact with most of his old trolling buddies. Heck, even if we skunk, I aint on the sewage infested channel , so it's all good no matter what happens.

Now I figure Puffin was funnin' with me. But sometimes folks get a bit too serious in front of a keyboard( been there. Trying not to do it again ). Which is why i did my best to explain why I choose kings over flatties.

Thanks all.

Mark and the recently medicated for fleas and ticks dog.
