Yurts at South Beach! Salty \'But Party Iminnent!!
That's right folks--there are several Yurts that sleep 5 "comfortably" available at South Beach State Park for $29.00 a night, + a $6.00 reservation fee, for the nights of 5-12 and 5-13.
This could be fun --kind of a mini TA/'BA party--woops, hope I didn't get sideways with the management again on that one .
Reservations can be had by calling 1-800-452-5687 monday morning. It's likely that you could get one at the last minute in a drive up, as there was 7 left tonight at closing.
Lets GO!!! I imagine we could have a damn nice BBQ, with a little surf and turf action on crabs, 'But, Beef, and who knows what else!!!
Ug and I are in--anybody else??

Charlie-
Are you guys planning on staying Saturday night as well? If you are, we may join you for dinner, brew and brag.
We're staying down the road at a relatives cabin, so no need for the round makeshift tent.
I can see the yurt thing taking off though. I would be fun to get them a bunch of them and raise a little....

Sheesh BF!! Ever hear of Google
They're cool domelike wall tents with a foundation that are really quite spacious. Have bunks, water and locking doors. Pretty cool really for $29.00.
I don't need no stinkin' jacuzzi or maid service
We've got room for you if you'd like. Looking forward to Friday!

Hi Charlie ! Um, hey dude, I've been giving this yurt idea of yours some thought. And, well, I'm not sure sure that it would be good idea, all due respect and all, to put five dogs, after a day of b u t t fishing and carking, IN THE SAME TENT!!! What if someone were to breath or something ?? Or, heaven forbid, light a match !!
PeterMac
PS - Actually a pretty good idea

Hey Charlie Yurts are usually reserved well in advance on big weekends sounds unusual that there should be so many available on a halibut weekend. I have an abundance of venison so use the beef for crab bait. I will bring a bunch and we can do the surf and turf in grand style

Re: Yurts at South Beach! Salty \'But Party Iminnent!!
Hey Jon--
I love my venison! Sounds great to me. You are right, the yurts are booked way in advance on the weekend, 'But they are available for weds. and thurs. night. Could've made that a bit more clear. I am cursed, and have to work sat. anyway, so I've only got the first 2 days to catch my 200#'s or so of 'But.
WP--you can park your Suburban in our driveway if you'd like. They get an extra $7.00 for another vehicle, 'But I'd even sport!
Uhhhhh...Peter--I am bringing my portable high flow ventilation and C02/methane detectors just in case ! Wish you could join us.
Anybody else out there want to stay close weds. and thurs. night?? There are still Yurts available for both nights. Call Monday AM for resevations!!

Wish I could make it as well, I won't be down until the wee hours of saturday morning for my first hunt...
Good luck, and get that vacuum packer ready for a workout

Re: Yurts at South Beach! Salty \'But Party Iminnent!!
If anyone's got space for another, I need a place for Thursday night. Doesn't need to be fancy, just a place to unroll a sleeping bag. I'll pay my share of the cost and throw in a healthy size bag of smoked springer.

Wooterson where did you buy a bag of smoked springer? After all the only one I saw you catch couldn't have weighed in at more than about two ounces ( fairly generous estimate). LOL

Re: Yurts at South Beach! Salty \'But Party Iminnent!!
Update!!!
Ragnar scored a yurt!
The only thing is....It's only good for Wednesday and Thursday nights.
I'll take a couple of ya if you just need to crash somewhere.
I'm not looking to "spoon" with any of you or anything like that (the whisker burn is just too weird for me).
I have now found alternate lodging for Friday and Saturday nights.
Thanks in advance,
Ragnar

Wootersen,
I received both of your messeges.
See at the yurts and on the pond for sure.
Good luck.
