Default Sportjet to kicker steering solution?

Anyone installed a sportjet to kicker steering solution?

Would like to install something like this on my sportster.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

The only solution I'm aware of is a TR-1.

Try www.ezsteer.com or www.levincy.com These websites might help. Devincys add says "steering systems for sportjet"

I have heard that the range of motion for the kicker is not 100% with these kits and is limited by the short range of motion on the jet.

Does anyone actually have one that can confirm or deny this?

Also, what about throttle?

Thanks....................if4f

You are correct, we had an EZ Steer connected to our Marine Power Jet and Merc Troller. The attachement to the pump had an extension that created a larger arc and greater steering motion, but it was sitll only about 75% of the total range of the troller. It worked pretty well even at that and there is no throttle control. We have since added the TR-1 and that's like having an extra guy on board who ONLY wants to steer!!

What's the rough price of adding a TR-1 to run the kicker?

Appears to be between $2000 and $4000... think I'll sit on the doghouse for a few more years.

I just picked up my new Custom Weld this weekend. I had them install a panther electric steer for the kicker. It was only 450.00 and allows you to steer from anywhere in the boat with a cord and keypad. Combine that with a Troll-master, or Control-king throttle control 150.00 and you have the setup (mine is on a 8hp Honda). The TR-1 is great, but you have to mortgage the house. You can have full range control with a precise throttle for around 600.00. Check out the panther marine website for info.

Hello you all, I hope there is alot of fishin going on. I have not been posting to much, work has been crazy. I think of all steering options, and whatever works for you is great. The truth in TR-1 is you must experiance a fishing trip with one then the money is not the issue, it's where can i get one.

The main reason we go fishing is to relax and enjoy our time and de-stress from life's stressors. This is where our product will most benifit the one's who use it. Slow speed boat control with a sled and a kicker/tiller handle well you all know what it is like!

Keep on Trollin!!!!
