Are there any reports of smelt running?

I just drove from Longview to Cathlamet and back yesteday between noon and 3:00pm. The big CR was flat and the weather was beautiful for January. Made me want to go get the boat and play (ok fish).
I didn't see one seal or gull. No sign of them slippery little critters yet.

Not yet..been watching it religously no signs, (dippers, gulls) but the big river is stacking up with sealions and seals from longview down so things should pick up by Feb sometime.
I fished Co. line park Sunday for sturg and we had 3 seals in front of us during the incomming tide.
Fished the highway prior to Co. line at the green channel marker 81 with 3 others and had 2 seals out in front also for the entire incomming tide...The smelt will be here soon enough.

Just hold on. They should be about 3 weeks away. We dipped our limits on Feb. 5th last year. If the water temp is right it should happen about that same time again. No guarantees, just a resonable target date.
