Default Just a reminder....

If you're fishing the Willamette..due to the temp...ya may wanna go to hardware, or bait/hardware combos.

Good luck out there.

FishinMission-What's the theory on water temperature and hardware vs bait? Do the fish take hardware when the temperature is above a certain point? It's been my understanding that at a certain point in the river system, switching to hardware becomes much more effective. I'm Just curios on the science or theories behind this

Hey mark. Sunday I used a prawn spinner with a red prawn and caught a beautiful unclipped fish. The water temp was 53'. We did OK but could of done better if I had gotten out there earlier. Oh well I picked one up on the Big C yesterday. Temp out there was 49' & I hit this one on a red spinner.

I was going out tomorrow, but the guy I was going with decided he should be with his wife on their anniversary.

OC temp was at 57.3 yesterday according to the good ole Lowrance.... Had one take down on a spinner and one on a wobbler and one lost at the boat on a kwikie.... but the highlight of the day is the boss thought I was sick  LOL

Don't know about the actual theory....but history dictates as the water warms...hardware seems to be the ticket.

Use whatever ya want.

I have also heard that 52 or better. Yesterday on the Willy we had four rods out, two prawn spinner combo's, and two rainbow spinners.

Got two fish. 23lb. hatchery fish, and I'm guessing at this weight of 28lbs. on a nate we released. Both took spinners with no bait.
