Default Atlantic Salmon Fly Auction for Ifish Donations

I was going to enter this fly into a competition but think I will donate it to the better good. This fly is tied on a 3/0 blind-eye hook in a classic Dee pattern, with a little modern flair added. Perfect for display in the office, den or wherever. I will ship it in a Lucite case and will pack it so no damage occurs. I am sorry for the poor picture quality. I promise you will not be disappointed with the quality of this fly. (If you live in the Salem area you can see a couple of my flies on display at Creekside Flyfishing.)

Just a quick blurp about me and my tying. I have been tying flies for over 20 years. I have been tying Atlantic Salmon flies for about 5 years. I have won National and International competitions in the past with my flies. I am not trying to brag at all. I just want you to know this is a quality fly. I am proud of this one.

Tied on a 3/0 blind eye dee hook with a Real silk gut eye. (This is the real Spanish silk gut. Not a processed silk gut leader.)
Wings – Royal Palm Turkey
Collar is black/white lace hen saddle and heron. Heron is over 5” long.
Thorax is layered Asian Blue Kingfisher
Body sides Ariel Toucan
Body is antique tinsel flat and oval (Very smooth with no gaps or ridges).
Tag is Japanese silk floss, dyed Golden Pheasant crest and Ariel Toucan.

All materials were legally obtained. There are no substitutes on this fly.

I would like to start the bidding at $20. That is about what the materials alone cost. Bidding will end on April 19, 2004. I will send out the fly to the person who donates the highest amount of money to Ifish.

LET THE DONATIONS BEGIN! (I have this same post on the main fishing forum as well. I just want the Fly Fishers to have a chance at a bid as well)

Willow Drifter,

I noticed that you had a similar post over on the Ifish Community board. Do you have two of these or are these for the same fly?

I was wondering the same thing. On your bid on the main board!

I am sorry. I just updated my post. There is only one of these flies. I just wanted the fly fishing board to have a chance as well.

Back up to the top it goes for a good cause.

Jennie bid this up to $55 on the other board. If it goes over $100 I will throw in some good Alaska fishing flies.

You guys are killing me here...

Between boat art by Green Butt Skunk and this fly, I'm seeing all my play money go up in flames for art.

What time does the auction end on the 19th? I'll wait till the last minute and then snipe Jennie...

No, nevermind, $65.
