Default Springer help needed

I have a brother in town and am wanting to get him a springer. We have been fishing the Umpqua but thats not panning out. We are wanting to go on friday and I thought about coming up and trying the big C. We would like to anchor and use kwikfish but have no idea where to go. I was wondering if somebody could give us some help. I don't need to know your favorite spot but maybe someone could tell me where to launch from and what to look for in a spot to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, DM

Launch at Kalama and follow the boats.

Good Luck

Mr. Duckman...

There are many places that are popular in the St. Helens area... Here are some to name a few:

Buoy 72
Sand Island
The Social Security Beach Area of Sauvies Island

If you want to fish on the Big C near the mouth of the Willamette, try Frenchmans Bar (It is just down river from the Willamette on the Columbia on the Washington side)...

Target water that is 15' to 30' ... There is no method to that madness except on somdays 15 is better than 30 & vice versa...

Good luck to you and hope you have a great trip...

With the counts going up at Bonneville the area out of Chinook Landing may be a good bet. Maybe not as good as some of the other areas mentioned BUT, you're not so much at the mercy of the wind and the tides at Gov. Is. to the mouth of the Sandy and up, as you are in the Kalama/St Helens area.

Same thing goes for depths, I like 13'-16' near the mouth of the Sandy. Get hold of an Oregon atlas and you'll see where I'm talking about.

Good Luck!
