Seasquid, I think we settled on Garibaldi. It's a Sunday trip so we want to minimize the drive. Garibaldi is a closer drive.

Squid,

Stoyjun Princess is dragging the Barhopper to Newport this weekend. Look for a red Alumaweld jabbering on 78.

We will holler when we get into them.

We know your boat. See ya out there.

Dude, I may be heading out Sunday but I won't know for sure till Saturday. I will be at Cathlamet from tonight through Saturday and may go splash the boat in at Garabaldi Sunday if the wind and weather will cooperate.
Would you be interested in hauling down the crab gear and a family member or two?

Give me a call and let me know....

I'm headed for eastern Oregon (the desert?) this weekend or I'd be all over a trip out. Monday is predicted 1 and 5 I think. Wow! Talk about torn....

Maybe I'll just edit all the favorable reports to preserve my sanity. Uh...no remarks about the sanity thing, okay?

I am thinking of taking Sunday off if the weather predictions hold! I have had a ball recently and want MORE! If there is a group out Sunday, maybe I will catch up with you all on the fish. If I go I will have a late start. Maybe Sunday AND Monday would be good! Anyone else going out on Monday?

Pilar... you better get Kurt to check in his drinking horn at the dock. He was in rare form at the Moss (CA) salmon opener last weekend. Pictures and video to follow as soon as I can get them off my camera.

Thanks for the warning. He'll have to paddle if the boat won't run so we'll keep him in drydock for the duration.

All kidding aside Kurt is alot of fun in a boat.

Kurt is great to have along...experienced, friendly, and a really good fisherman. He works hard and, most importantly, he is on time (read early)!

Float Plan 04/11/2004
F/V 'Pilar' Ocean Blue, Threemuch, Pilar.

~Check forecast and conditions and bar status before departure.
~If bar is locked down, bay crab and maybe plunk for sturgeon or play with greenlings.
~If bar is open and Ocean conditions are acceptable.
~Depart Garibaldi at 1st light.
~Cross bar if open 05:30
~Deploy Crab gear at usual location and shrimp gear at locations TBD.
~Determine fishing location based on conditions. Rockfish and lings early, may switch to Salmon along the 30 fathom line for the rest of the trip.
~Retrieve crab and shrimp gear.
~Cross bar inbound after 12:00 and NLT 14:00.

Cervesa and fresh crab ....

Man, you guy's is killin me. :depressed:

I'd throw in with ya but on my last trip for gators I had some pump noise that bothered me some. It may have been a bearing running dry. Or when the pump went back together the bearing got some grit in it some how. At this point I'm not sure.

I lubed everything real well and now need to run her in the bay a bit to see if I have to tear the pump down again.

I'll probally just do Newport for Crab tomorrow provided I can find at least one salty sole who can spend half an Easter Sunday away from home.

Have fun!!
