Can't even get through the chinook to catch a silver.......oh, the problems
This week was a work in progress. We started out Monday getting two fish, Tuesday getting four, Wednesday with six, Thursday with eight but today dropped off to four for seven hookups. All chinook!
The best day was yesterday for sure, we had our limit of eight by 10:30 a.m.
I've been getting fish throughout the river with the Washington side producing the best.
We've had a very good hook to land ratio, 28 hooked and 24 landed. Not counting a few short strikes that were probably jacks or something anyway. Heavy leader (50# Big Game), Gami's, and letting the fish take it with a wait, wait, wait is the reason for the success.
We even landed a fish that broke the bead chain swivel on the fish flash and the fish leader was only attached by a loop twisted around the swivel. That wouldn't have held with 30#.
We had some great weather and fun times, several people got their first salmon, 12 year old Justin even got his first fish this morning and it was a 28# up river bright.
Next Monday I'll be back at it again for another six days and I'm looking forward to some more hot action.
I have two seats left open for August 29th if any one is interested drop me a line to:
