Default Spring Break Tuna and Marlin

We took the nasty teenagers to Cabo for the break. Managed to get out fishin' one day and had some fun. It started with finding the dolphins, then getting into some fast tuna action. We managed to get 8 tuna to the boat, and broke one off, (80 pound mono line), that fish went on some awesome runs, we chased it with the boat for 10 minutes, but in the end,I never got it anywhere close the boat. An hour went by without any action, then the captain yells MARLIN! We all saw the fish in the water, we slow down the boat, then the deck hand loads a live baitfish on a hook, casts out behind the boat and gets the marlin to take the bait--- awesome to watch!!! It took my 19 y/o and myself trading off duties about 45 minutes to get this striped marlin to the boat. The captain and deckhand wrestled it up onto the boat for a photo then we log rolled it back into the sea of Cortez. We came home with good memories, some digital images and 42 pounds of yellowfin filets. Don't go to Cabo without getting out to fish.

Ya, I know what "in hoc" means too . It's where my boat will be by the time I'm finished putting Mr. Sigma Chi, and all of his brothers and sisters thru college.

Jeremy, I went out on a Solmar charter boat. The 31 footer cost me 525.00 for the day. I think you could fish 4-6 people, we just had 3. You leave the marina at 0700 and return by 1400-1430. Eleven dollars for each person's license, 20 dollars (what a joke) for a scoop of live baitfish for the boat, and finally I paid 20.00 to have 8 tuna expertly fileted. Take your own lunch and beverages. I checked into another company, Picante, they wanted almost double . Newer boats, all air condo yada, yada ...., this boat worked great for what we wanted to do.
