Default High water Columbia River tips

I've been fishing the Columbia the last few days and even though it's running with huge flows (365,000 cubic feet per second) we have been hooking fish but applying high water techniques.

We have been getting them in five to ten feet of water right up on shore in the brush using bright colored Kwikfish. Look for places out of the current like behind islands or points of land and also on the inside (shallow side) of bends instead of in the main flows.

The water is dirty but you can still see your trolling motor prop, that's been the old rule, if you can see that you can catch salmon.
