Default Don\'t go!!! Wink, Wink........

THIS IS THE UPDATED VERSION OF WHAT I POSTED LAST NIGHT

Don't go to the coast......the rivers are blown out, the roads are icy, there's tons of people fishing and there's no fish either.......

OK, seriously though, for those of you who are going to fish the NW Steelheaders Rodeo this weekend I fished the Wilson today and there was only one other boat putting in with us, the river is very low and clear but we found a lot of fish.

We hooked 11 and landed 9. We caught (and released) four brood stock fish, a couple of run backs and some very fresh and chrome bright natives up to 12 pounds.

We caught three fish in deep tailouts and all the rest in water with some kind of surface cover(broken surface). And we caught fish from top to bottom, except in the hatchery hole. I haven't touched a fish in the hathcery hole in the last three trips down there.

There were some nice fish but I'd expect with increased presure the success rate may drop.

Be carefull of the icy roads. It snowed on us all morning, by noon we had about five inches in the boat. When I left Tillamook it was hailing and the road was wet but clear, up near the summit it was a little slick and then coming back down through Gales Creek it was dry. With the water that was on the road and the temps in the 20's and some new snow on the way it could get a little hairy heading down there.
