Live Report From the CR
Sloowww morning. Hot, hot, hot afternoon. Just got the call "Can I stay here a little longer? We have two in the boat and we need a third for one each." They have seen 12 caught in the last hour or so. Zaq was right! They ARE around St Helens(ish)today.

Re: Live Report From the CR
Rumor has it SilverHilton is doing well, after pirating my spot from yesterday. Buck50 may have gotten in on the action, too.
As of 600pm, SH and my buddies were still hitting it. Maybe we'll get some better reports later.

Re: Live Report From the CR
That was my Buck50 who called and asked if it was okay to stay later. They ended up with just the two. Picture on the way.

Re: Live Report From the CR
well I know they where not up to the sand island area today I was lucky enough to get out with Green bud skunk and we did not get touched or even see a net go in all day!!! It was slow way slow. However we did get after some sturgeon to Get Lee his first fish which was a very nice way to end a great trip.

Re: Live Report From the CR
STG...sorry I missed the 'marital connection' there. I keep bumping into your hubby out there. Looks like SH has come over to the dark side and Buck50 followed along.
Just wait to see what happens when SH goes to report 'his weekend success'. I've got some great quotes from SH just itching to make it into cyberspace.

Wish you could have made it. Fun's better when shared.

Re: Live Report From the CR
Man, sounds like I better be careful with what I say...
I had the pleasure of fishing next to and with some excellent company the past few days. Smack was talked, adult beverages were consumed, and fish were caught. I did a little of each.
I had the privilege of following LI's lead and going back to a spot that I had forsaken for a couple of years. This is now Eric's favorite spot, and appropriately so - it puts out more fish than any spot I have ever seen. I think everyone reading this should line up next saturday on this spot. To make it easy for everyone to find, I have included a mapquest link, here.
Fun weekend, great time with all of you.
For that poor soul that actually wants to know what happened out there, it was kinda slow still, about 15 fish for maybe 40 boats. Fewer people than I expected. There was one nice flurry of action sunday, with 4 fish in our line of 7 boats within 20 minutes. The rest of the fish were scattered throughout the day.

Re: Live Report From the CR
SH...glad to hear it was still putting out yesterday. (See i'm not crazy after all. )
As far as the smack talking goes, SH can really pour it on. Of course I am certain he rehearses his lines on the way to the river. I think I even saw him glancing at a pocket edition of "smack talking made easy". It doesn't make it any easier when the guy starts catching fish on top of it.
I guess I am going to have to get up extra early next weekend if I am going to beat everybody on the internet to the 'x' on the map.
I wish I could have been there for day two, but alas it was not to be. We'll have to plan another 'ho down' for this Saturday. It was great to finally get to hang out and see the "silver master" at work.
Let's see them pic's!

Re: Live Report From the CR
I appear to have fouled up the link to Lured In's highly productive and secret spot. Here is the correct link
Erich's favorite spot. Sh-h-h-h - don't tell anyone, this is just between us I-fishers. I'm sure there's room for a couple more boats.

Wait a minute I am not hearing how SH didn't think much of your spot and went elsewhere until he couldn't stand it anymore and then sheepishly came and joined in.

Re: Live Report From the CR
Yup, I came a begging, tail sorta between my legs. Sang the blues for a long time, too, until the fish finally obliged. You know how it is, when your favorite rock quits working. You can't be heartless and give up immediately - you have to work on the relationship, see if you can't make things work out.
But if the heartless sedimentary piece of <marigold> won't produce, sometimes a man has to do what must be done, and abandon that which does not produce for that which does.
Buck50 can testify to that.

Re: Live Report From the CR
Well, that (marigold) was still golden a week ago (I'm sure you remember). Who knows, could be next week. Fish seem to be as fickle as fishermen...

Re: Live Report From the CR
Well, again, just like a man, I'll be back to the first spot, asking for forgiveness. I'll tell her I'll always be faithful, but I'll be lying like any other junky, desperate for a fix.

Re: Live Report From the CR
SH...yeah but that's because my anchor works. You really need to upgrade from the concrete filled Clorox bottle you call an anchor and you might stay put longer.

It isn't a clorox bottle, it's a coffee can. Get it right.

Re: Live Report From the CR
Hey SH, You mean like this???
The drift boat lake anchor that was found on the bank at Clackamette Park in the early-mid '90's? The one that holds the bait freezer door shut when it isn't involved in kokanee jigging???

Yeah, just about exactly like that, only mine didn't look as good. I made one when I was young and poor. It didn't work very well, concrete isn't dense enough.

Re: Live Report From the CR
This one was free, and when it isn't a door stop, it only sees the bottom of Suttle Lake.
