Me and two clients fished Raineir today, not much going on but we did release one small wild fish we caught on a red flatfish in the first hour or so.
I saw about six other fish hooked, heard of a few others and I'm sure there were a few more than that taken, all out of about 50 boats. It should be picking up soon.
We watched one boat catch a wild fsh, bring it into the boat after netting it tail first. They then tried to unhook it on the floor of the boat, couldn't do that, decided to motor back up to their anchor rope and then release it......put it back in as it floated belly up. Their budies next to them floated back from their rope and netted it again to try and revive it. I don[t know what they did with it but they did procede to run up river five or six hundred yards and go to shore. Maybe they were trying to revive it there I don't know.
It all made me sick, I wish I could give tickets myself. They never even looked to see if it was clipped until they had it on the floor of the boat flopping around in a nylon net. I did't say any thing because I had a lady in the boat and I didn't want to start a confrontation.
