My Bowtech family!!
I finally took the plunge last night and picked up my new Bowtech Extreme VFT from Kutch Archery. This makes the family:
from left to right: My Extreme VFT......My wife's Ladyhawk......My daughter's Rascal.
My son isn't quite big enough for his Bowtech yet...but he'll get one when he's ready.
Again, nothing but kudos for Kenny and Ruth and Kutch Archery!!

Re: My Bowtech family!!
How's your wife like that ladyhawk? I've been thinking about getting mine a bow and that was one of the ones I was thinking of. If you've checked it how fast is it at what lb draw and length?
Thanks
Kris

Re: My Bowtech family!!
Kris...
The LadyHawk at 40lbs, 25.5" draw, with a 26" GoldTip Falcon arrow with 75gr point, was exactly 200fps.
My wife is dropping down an inch in drawlength, which will likely loose 10fps or so, but she's going to bump up 5lbs on the draw weight and see how she feels...that should keep the speed around 200.

Re: My Bowtech family!!
I too am a proud owner of a Bowtech, Patriot! Can't by a better bow, and Oregon made.
BTW Mathews may have started the Solocam , but Bowtech pioneered the Parallel Limb (VFT)....
Good looking family you have there!

Re: My Bowtech family!!
Bowtech may look like a Matthews, But that is the only way you can compare the two. Bowtech makes a bow for just about everyone interested in shooting. The Pro40, Liberty and the Justice are probably the best shooting bows made today. My hat is off to the fine people at Bowtech!

Re: My Bowtech family!!
Troybuz,
I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but Mathews implemented parallel limb design in 1996. Bowtech went into business in 1999.
Before I go any further, let it be known I'm not here to disrespect Bowtech. They are great bows and Bowtech is a great bow manufacturer. They've surpassed a lot of big name bow manufacturers and they've done it by making incredible shooting machines (and incredibly fast).
But Bowtech built it's reputation with it's speed bows. (they hold patents on the fastest single, dual and triple cam bows).
I don't know if they just aren't big on sponsorships or what, but they still aren't winning the big tournaments like Mathews and Hoyt are. Certainly this has a lot to do with the shooters, but the top shooters are also hardcore competitors and they're going to want to shoot a bow that will put them atop the podium.
Just my opinion, but the battle for supremecy is between Mathews and Hoyt. But one would suspect Mathews and Hoyt are looking over their shoulders.

My wife recently talked to a professional photographer about doing a family portrait. I think your family portrait turned out quite nice.

Re: My Bowtech family!!
Am looking to buy a new bow and am looking at all three brands Bowtech, Hoyt and Mathews...what a decision. It looks like everyone really has their own preference, but any other info any of you could offer to help make the decision easier for me would be apprecaited!!

Thanks
Panfry

Re: My Bowtech family!!
My personal experience with Hoyt, on my last bow....
I really believe they make a quality product, nowadays, even PSE doesn't get away with making junk.
The problems I had with Hoyt was they just seemed like they've gotten too big too fast. Example: when I bought my bow from Archer's Afield...ALL THE HOYT'S in the shop had the 80% letoff module...which, of course, is illegal in Oregon. When I asked why they had come that way, I was told they had no choice, just the way they were sent from the factory. Had to wait close to 3 weeks for the 65% modules.
You hear lots of things like this about Hoyt, right now they're just so popular, they're overbooked and oversold everywhere.
Good thing about Bowtech is a class-act dealer (Kutch Archery) and I'm only 1.5 hours from the factory!!
And yes, they are FASSSSSTTTTTT!

Re: My Bowtech family!!
It is my understanding that the original VFT Bow was not created by Matthews but was designed and developed by The Oregon Bow company. As for someone looking for a quiet shooting bow I believe that the Bowtech Pro40 with the Freedom Cam is hands down quieter than any other bow out today. Not only is it quiet it has an extremely smooth draw and has virtually no hand shock or vibration. Matthews does make a good bow and so does Hoyt and I own a Hoyt. But right now I have yet to shoot a comparable bow that equals that of a Bowtech. I have seen several top shooters switching to Bowtech. I believe this is due to the fact that they feel awesome to shoot.
CHOOSE BOWTECH!

Re: My Bowtech family!!
Panfry, you might also consider a Martin...another local company (Walla Walla) that has been around for 50 years. I was intent on buying a mathews. Then I shot a mathews, a hoyt and then a martin, and I could tell right away that the martin just fit me--and the price did too.
