OOPS!
I can't believe I did this. Left the fishfinder and marine radio in the boat and they got water in them somehow. So now I'm in the market for new ones. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Had an Eagle Ultra Classic FishFinder and a Uniden MC 1020 Marine Radio. I was looking to upgrade anyway but not so soon. Looking for middle of the line products and prefer temp and speed on the FF.
Thanks

Re: OOPS!
The Eagle 320 is supposed to be excellent for the money.

Re: OOPS!
Lowrance would be my first choice but I think the little woman would have something to say if I came home with a $500 to $1200 fishfinder. I could probably get away with the $500 though.
Blacktail- Sounds like GBS is having some trouble with his Eagle 320. I was looking at that one and the 480.
Thanks guys

Re: OOPS!
I would go to Rodgers Marine Electronics on 33rd and Marine Drive in PDX. They may be able to dry them out. I had trouble with moisture in my Eagle FF, and it dried out and works fine now. If you are just going to scrap them, I'll take the radio and see if I can dry it!

Re: OOPS!
You might try setting them on/in front of, a heater vent for a couple of days. I got my cb wet and placed it in the oven on "low" and it came back to life. Don't forget it in there, I think it would melt. Good Luck. I've had good luck with my Bottom Line FF and their service department. I don't have any experience with marine radios but hope to one day.....

Re: OOPS!
My cell phone fell into the Wind River and I didn't notice for over an hour. Found it underwater at the boat ramp buzzing and vibrating away. Took it home, dried it out, and it worked for years thereafter.

Re: OOPS!
They say to not turn anything that is electrical on, until you are sure it is dried out.
I've done this with many electrical things that I dump in the river.
Dry them out, thoroughly, and THEN turn them on.
Works!

Re: OOPS!
The Eagle 320 is a Lowrance made in the same factory..........Like Jennie said let them dry out B4 using. Put them in a box with one of those silica bags that draw moisture out of the air ( like the ones that you put in a camp trailer.

Re: OOPS!
When you get done drying them out and they still don't work, don't throw them away, try sending them in to the Manuafuture (sp) I have friends that have had great luck with them being fixed at a real reasonable price, had a friend that had a new E-trac GPS, two weeks, dog ate it, they fixed and sent it back free. You might not want to up-grade if you can get them fixed for a small fee. I guess I'm just cheap. Ray

Re: OOPS!
If you have a G.P.S. i would suggsest useing the speed indorcator on your G.P.S. . I have found that fish finders are not very accurate on any fishfinders for speed . You will find that G.P.S. speed is very accurate I love LOwrance , but have heard that Eagle is very good . I couldn!t fish without a temperature on my depth finder . It helps me catch more fish for sure .

Re: OOPS!
Eagle and Lowrance come out of the same factory.
Lowrance products tend to cost more money. If you can find what you need in Eagle brand then it will be cheaper.
Make sure you give your FF and Radio ample time to dry out. I wouldn't recommend putting any electronics in the oven. You'd be asking for trouble.
The manufacturers want to see their products in use so give them a chance to make them right.
Okey Dokey?
