Default Chinook on the rise

OK,
We all know that fishing is best when the rivers are on a the drop (especially after a blow out). I have done OK when they are rising but not as well. What are your thoughts on fishing a rising river?

Stay home and wax the boat, wash my anchor rope and mend the net.

If you're in the right place at the right time with the right bait you can catch fish on a rising river. Heck, you can even do well. However, you stand much better odds on a falling river. If you can, pick your battlefield. But, if you're a 9-5 M-F worker like most, fish when you get the chance to fish and focus on techniques and areas that make the most of your odds.

Chinook definitely will bite on the rise. Steelhead usually will not.

Let me tell you, steelhead will bite on the rise. At least summer steelhead will.

Rivers on the rise, nothing but exercise. Rivers on the fall, time to make the haul.
