Default Siletz Still an Option...

Well, the Siletz is still an option for those who enjoy strolling along a beautiful river and catching steelhead. Most fish are being found way up the gorge, between mile 6 and 12, and the gate on the road is closed on weekedays, open on weekends. Have never had a problem mountain biking up and fishing the holes on weekdays though...very few people. Most fish have their rainbow colors and are probably more fun to catch than to keep.
Please be careful if wading in the river. There are lots of spawning salmon in this upper stretch and we need to be careful not to disturb them or their redds.
Great opportunity for those who prefer fly fishing or for those who like to watch their bobber plunge after a steelie takes their jig!
Good luck and remember to be respectful to other fishermen (and fisherwomen!).
