75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
Just got off the phone with the Zaq and they said they caught a Hawg. One scale said 75lbs and they were on their way to the dock for a better scale. Guess they were fishing tidewater. Will update details as they come in...........Chris

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
Dear Chris,
Please tell zaq to come by for weighing and a picture!
I'm waiting!
It truly amazes me that there are 43(and growing) hits on this thread with NO picture to confirm. What gives?
Thanks a million!

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
I'm naturally very interested in a photo and details, phone numbers, etc...please have someone call at 503-221-8231, long distance at 888-222-8231, cell at 503-816-7486 or email me...I'm out of town until Wednesday morning, but can call or talk on the road...also will have a laptop to file a story...
Marie, if you get to take a photo, please save or send me an UNretouched photo...thanks very much, too, for the last one.

You can't do this to us. Post about a possible 75# by Zaq and Bobby and leave us hangin' with not even a for sure weight. The anticipation is killing me.
Guess I'll have to wait tell tomorrow like everyone else.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
This should be interesting ???
I ran into the Carrot crew at the dock in Garabaldi as we were putting the boats on the trailer at 1:30 PM and they told me they did as well as we did today.
O-FER
Were they woofin me or was someone woofin you?
If they had a 75lber in the boat I don't want to play Poker with those guys. I hope they did, but I have my doubts.
All in all it was a pretty slow day in the lower bay.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
I would hope to think that this isn't a false report. If it is, it would disappoint many fishermen and women, not to mention media persons.
I know that I have gotten a couple calls about fishing tomorrow, after reading the report. I'd hate to think people think there are big ones in right now.
That happens, occasionally, when big ones come through for a couple days. I think that happened in... what, 87? A flush of huge monster fish came through, and then came back again, a week later. People were catching huge fish!
I surely hope it's true!
Jen

I bet it is true. The Carrot Clan spends a lot of time on the water and they know how to fish, so it was only a matter of time before one of them hit the fish lotto.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
I believe them. If they say they caught one, they caught one. It's probably 65-75 pound range. Read through the posts, they said they are staying down another day before they can post the pics. Wouldn't you?
How many times have you read that Team Carrot Milk scored, and then followed it with pics to prove it. Too many to count. I'm sure they will post it tomorrow night or Tuesday.
That pig will make a lot of Tillamook Head Cheese!

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
Wouldn't surprise me at all. I knew when there were nearly 50 lb fish being caught off Newport over the 4th of July weekend that we were in for some huge fall fish this year.
A good friend of mine landed a 60+ lb buck on the tucker the other day. It was a nice fish but he was looking to add to his egg stock so back it went.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
Certainly it's never been denied that the "boys" are drama queens when it comes to their stories, but you gotta hand it to them. I've not yet heard them tell a story that they didn't back up with proof. Much as I love to give them a hard time (all in fun of course), I'm betting a picture will appear at some point in the day. The last time I bet against them, it cost me $10! I'd just like to hear what the official weight turned out to be.
Marie??? Surely you must know something! Sworn to secrecy or something?

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
Most other times the "Carrot Clan" had fish in the box the pics would be on the board 10Mins. before the boat got to the dock??
There's 10Mins. of reading time I'll never get back.
Funny..Funny

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
This is better than a bad soap opera.
I dont think those guys would spout their mouth if they didnt have the goods to back it up. They would never live it down. They prob were so excited they had to get the hype going first and then let it build up till they posted. Carrot clan style. congrats to those boys for scoring big. I am envious but happy for them at the same time.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
SalmonStryker,
Uh...maybe someone was pulling FishnXtc's leg? I don't see any posts by any of the carrot team claiming they personally caught a 70 lb fish so I wouldn't get too serious about the "credibility gap".
They've certainly posted enough of the real stuff that I don't think they'll ever have any credibility problems.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
KHH, Danthefishman and I were Bobber fishing tidewater last week and I hooked into a fish that we couldn't budge. We were fishing a hole with a lot of snaggs (kinda redundant) and I had my drag as tight as it would go and was thumbing the spool and this fish just pulled line anyway. We could turn the fish and feel it shaking its head so we had to have it in the mouth, no tail wagging or any signs it was snagged. I handed the rod to KHH and he tried to hold this pig as it was heading for a snagg it got some momentum and it broke 40lb. line just pulling away. There be some big fish in them thar waters. If the carrot boys say they caught a 70+ pound fish I believe them, I've caught fish in the upper 40's and this fish made them feel like a minnow.

Re: 75lb King caught by Carrots in Tillamook
To back up what Hogback was saying, My biggest salmon ever was in the 45# range an URB and that pig was definately bigger than that.
PS - Thanks for handing it to me Randy.
I have to say I have been a pretty good judge of weight but I would not venture a guess on what this pig weighed given I never saw it but it would have definately been my biggest. I have been hearing of many big fish being released this year as well.
I have to believe the "Carrot Clan" when they say this because they have been known to prove the truth here so I will definately give them the benefit of the doubt as well.
