Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Guides? WHO needs em? I can catch coho, bright jacks and salmon right out back.
Next year I'm going to guide the Rendezvous. I'm going to pick up my people in the morning, and take em out back on the bank.
WE WILL WIN! JUST WATCH!!!

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
I just talked to a guide that was there at the weigh in 15 minutes before closing and he said that there was something like 31 fish in so far. He caught two for his boat. Said it was real good right off in the morning but then slowed down.
He didn't mention any 62 pounders though.

Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Where do you find the results of the Salmon Rendezvous, are they posted somewhere? When do us desk jockies get to see what our bosses made us miss?
Please post results, I'm dying to find out.

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
It's not over until tonight, so who knows?
Yesterday, Tim Juarez and... dang...who else? I forget who was in the lead. Timmy and someone else who I will remember as soon as I get younger and get my memory back.
Bill is majorly in the dog house. He forgot his cell phone, and so he
1. Did not call me as promised at 9:00 so I could jump in the boat and
2. Is not calling giving me reports.
I doubt he'll get a welcome home hug today!

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Marty? Someone that was there, last night? I would love to know the results of the tourney. I stayed home... Now I wish I hadn't! I want to know all the details!
I know that Paul Willy won the tourney. Tim came in third.. Bill came in 13th.
So... Who was second?
I do know the biggest fish was 39 1/2, but I don't know who got it.
Anyone fill in the blanks?
Jen

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
I hoped there would be a tiny mention in the Oregonian this morning about the great job done by the Tillamook Guides Assoc. Too much to ask I suppose. Not like some bicycle rally or an exciting walkathon through downtown Portland.
Jennie, can someone give some credit to the wives (I wish I knew all their names and I don't want to leave anyone out) who worked so hard to pull this off.
The auction was wild!!

I'll look into it! I don't want to list them, and forget anyone. I'll ask Shana.

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
By the way, the fish that Rod caught was on a cut plug herring injected with Maries Sardine scent. Awesome stuff!!!

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Ran into Eric Linde this morning up in Troutdale. He said that Terry Seamster was hot.
Capt. Hook. on the light press coverage, the way these things work, you've got to promote it to the press, send'em the info and the pix etc.
Now you'd think some smart cookie associated with the Rendezvous would have been posting result pix on Ifish, get the event some PR.

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Tillamook Anglers cleaned, fillet and vac packed every fish that was caught. Trust me their was no 62pound fish brought in. Their sure was a lot of cromers,48 the first day and 38 the next day. First place went to Doug Willite, 2nd Tim Juarez and 3rd Paul Welley. Tim had the biggest at 39.5, 2nd 39.25, I think that was Doug Willite. It was a great two days with a lot of money raised for local fish projects. The Tilllamook Guides Ass. did a bang up job. All the guides that gave of their time need to hear a big thank you from all of you that fish in Tillamok County. Let me say if you every get a chance to eat food cooked by Herb Good do so, my hat is off to that guy. This is the first year that the Tillamook Guides put on this event. They had 56 fishermen and women, I think with the great job that they did, next year they should have 156. I was shocked at the door prizes and the items they had for raffle, silent and oral auction. I thought I had walked into a sporting good store. I won't try to mention all the sponsors but they were all there. Great job guys and gals.

Jerry, Joe,
Someone give me a call Wednesday with the results and I'll get something in Thursday's paper.
I'm out of town right now, riding my bicycle in my camo spandex...

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Jerry,
Thanks for the final count and the "winners" on the Rendezvous. I was kind of curious if the Tillamook Anglers did a count on how many of the Chinook were native vs. hatchery? I notice in all the pix (Bob Rees, Chris V's, Jennie's, etc.) that they seem to be all natives.
I was wondering what the ratio was for Tillamook.
Brion
PS On thanking the Tillamook Guides, in the vein of your loving gives me a thrill but...the guides I hire for biz and pleasure fishing are all members of Tillamook Guides...for folks hiring guides, a question for fols to ask when they are hiring or recommending guides.

Re: Salmon Rendezvous - Results? Jennie?
Brion. I asked each person that did the cleaning. They both said about 8to 10 hatchery fish out of each station. That would be about 20 hatchery out of 86 fish. They did not keep track but thought they were pretty close on the count. I was next to them vac. packing and they would say each time they had a hatchery fish. I thought about 25%, I might have been a little high. Next year we will keep a count and let you know. Thanks, Jerry
