Barton Park Banking it.....

How is the bank access at Barton Park it seems to be a lot of room but wondering about water quality.

The water at barton is good. Good color and good clarity. It is up a little bit, but it is alot more swift then I am use to seeing it. The water is moving fast enough you need alot more weight, and while it might not look it, be careful wading. The water is swift enough that once you start getting up to about your knees its hard to walk and keep balance. And if you get dumped and fill your waders, its swift enough to keep you from comin back up.

Lot's of good water at Barton.If you hike below the bridge and wade across to the island there is lots of good water.

But as ORoutdoorsman said, be careful wading to the island when the water is moving as it is now...that water is COLD :shocked: . Started today wearing my lightweight breathables and was glad I had heavy neoprenes in the car to change into!

We've banked above the park on occasion over the last year. I was there before this last snow and the lagoon behind there is becoming a lake making the crossing to the island harder and harder when water is med to high.
