I didn't weigh them but I have caught several in the 42"-45" range. In the creeks I fished in SE Alaska most were around 36".

Big Native Buck - Aprox 20 lbs - Hooked by me and landed by my wife in April of 2000 on the upper Nestucca River. Caught and released on a Lami 9'6
4-10 lb spinning rod with 8lb main line. Bobber and Jig.
My personal biggest was a 17 lb hatchery buck caught on the Necanicum River on a bobber and jig (same rod and line weight as above) Winter of 1998

Re: BIGGEST Steelhead Poll
Caught my biggest fish plunking for summer steelies on the Columbia last year. Didn't get a chance to weigh it as it was a nate and I was trying to revive & release it, but the guys there gauged it around 13 lbs. Not a huge fish...but boy did she put up a heck of a fight

43.5" X 24.5" native buck January 30, 2001. According to the formula came in over 33lbs. Could have been the new Washington State winter record? Mabey. Caught, measure, photographed and released unharmed.

Re: BIGGEST Steelhead Poll
Not exactly caught solo........21 lb on the South Fork Coquille River, 1985. I hooked it and played it for about 10 minutes, it made a monster run into the rapids and broke me off. As I was rigging up, the guy next to me hooks a fish and horses it right up, not even a one minute fight. As I was cursing my bad luck, he asks me what color corkie I was using......he had hooked through the eye of my teardrop sinker (didn't know about slinkies and pencil lead back then)! It was a very nice fish, the largest steelhead I have had a part in. At least I got to see it, the worst part was watching it go into another guy's truck!

14# native buck on the upper Nestucca February 2001 on a cab egg fly. Hooked another beast that same day that rapped me around a large snag and busted me off. I love fishing up there for the late winter nates.

Re: BIGGEST Steelhead Poll
I've landed a couple of 40" class fish but no weights for you as they all went back in.
Last year I took pity on a fishing partner since he had only landed 1 to my 4 at one point and I handed off a 39 1/2 inch fish.
I have a photo of that on my desk at work. Got with my at that time brand new TH rod.

Native 19.5lb. buck in the upper Trask at the slick rock hole January 16, 1981 using roe. I knew that fishermans log book would come in handy some day. Wow that was a good year, oh wait I think I used to do more fishing than working then.

Re: BIGGEST Steelhead Poll
21 lbs, Washougal River, April 1990. Borrowed friend's driftboat and caught the fish on a blue pirate #35 rattling hot shot. 10lb line and what a fight. This was a unique fish in that it had a clipped adipose and right pectoral fin. WDFW biologist reported that the fish was lost, as it was supposed to go to the Sandy River.

18# on nightcrawler, crawdad tail,& pink yarn. 8# maxima, 6.5' fiberglass/graphite composite w/ a beat up old Shimono spinning reel. Got him in the lower end of the Siletz gorge near Sunshine creek, bout 1986 or 87. Went swimming for that pup. Ended up eatin` the guy after all that great fight. Been feelin` guilty ever since. His picture sits on my desk here at work to this day. Bob.
