A funny pic...
This is not one of mine, I found it on moment of fame while I was uploading some of mine. I have no idea what river, or what the story is, just thought it was kinda funny.

I would be willing to bet they don't even know it's there. Classic!

And, worse yet, the Neanderthal on the left, with his back to the camera, is about to moon us!

Maybe you should change your moniker appropriately to "Salmon Snagger"

Re: A funny pic...
i only snag the bass on my neighbors pond. it is about 2 acres. there are no buildings on the property. the pond is filled with thousands of bass that are no bigger than a foot. during the summer they swim to the south end of the pond and feed in the grass. this is in less than 2 feet of water. i get above them in the canoe and drop a large treble hook beneath them. when the fish is on top of it i jerk the line. i get several fish this way. the property owner lives in alaska so i rarely see him. he doesn't care if do this because the pond is overpopulated.

Salmoncatcher --- Once you've snagged the little critters what do you do to them?

Re: A funny pic...
Why waste your time snaging the Bass, use a small gill net . If that does not thin them out try explosives  .

Re: A funny pic...
I fish the Kokanee spawn run on the Metolius River every September. When mooching with a Nordic or Buzz Bomb you just can't help but snag one every once in awhile. I have developed Three Rules to always Obey when snagging Kokanee.
1.) Always Carefully and gently release the snagged Fish unharmed when the game officer is watching.
2.) Always Carefully and gently release the snagged Fish unharmed when the game officer is not watching.
3.) Always obey rule one and two.

Re: A funny pic...
after catching them i throw them in the woods and let the racoons sort them out. that explosive idea just might work. to make ANFO you mix 17 parts 13-0-38 fertilizer and 1 part fuel oil. a model rocket motor should ignite it. a gillnet might also work. it might wake up the neighbors. a stater live across the street. it is a nice pond for this area. nothing is built on the 10 acres it sits on and it is usually filled with waterfowl. the last thing i shot there was a muskrat swimming on the surface. i decided to stay a couple hours past the hunting hours to see how many ducks would land there. i sat on the shore and 30 ft. in front of me i heard something splashing around. it was barely light so i couldn't see exactly what it was. i fired 3 #3 steel at it and it flopped around some more and then stopped. i paddled out there in the canoe to retrieve because i thought it was a huge bass. it turned out to be a stupid muskrat.

Re: A funny pic...
Salmoncatcher-
I'm hoping from the smile that appears before your post that you are kidding. If you are not, then you are in serious need of what we call around here an E-D-U-C-A-T-I-O-N. Just take a look at some of the threads that have come down with regards to snagging, and you'll find out how detrimental that activity has been on some of our runs.
