I have an old "Fire Cluster" spinner from the Grizzly Manufacturing Co. It has an Oaky for the body. Grizzly was bought by Luhr Jensen. It is still on the original card for resale. I don't know how old it is but the back of the card has an offer for 13 issues of Fishing&Hunting News for $1.00

Jennie --- You're first lure is a "Devi-Lure", made in New York in 1941 by Charles W. Lane. A few years ago it was traded at about $31.

Here are a couple of lures my uncle gave me last year. He bought all of them in Oregon before he moved to Ca. in 1952. The top 2 are called Russell lures and are made of metal the bottom is a Flatfish color HE.

The top salmon plug is a Lucky Louie - color squid the middle is a Wallace Highliner -color pearl pink and the bottom is a Maygard SparX-plug color daylight flourescent all were made in Seattle and all in the original boxes they all are priced for under $1 except the Flatfish which was $1.29.

Jennie:

I/m not sure why "we" ever quit using cherry bobbers. Drift fishing or plunking, those caught a LOT of fish. (I lost my last one two years back to a monster chinook below Bonneville.) :depressed:

Catch 22:

13 issues of F&H News is STILL only worth $1.00

First Light:

In the classic "Fishing the Oregon Country," by Francis Ames, published in 1965, he frequently mentioned the Russellure, especially, as I recall, for river cohos. Never seen one before. (And the "HE" was Flatfish shorthand for "Herring.")

Paddlefish, That's why there's no expiration date on the coupon!

Notice I've never redeemed it either.
