thanks Safety Chain!
You Da man!
You were the first to "officially" christen the new boat with fish blood. It was all gravy after that.
I was skeptical when I saw that rod and reel of yours, the one with two guides, but you proved me wrong, you were a catchin' machine.
Good fishing with you buddy, you're a class act.
Glad one of us is  . Looking forward to the challenge in two weeks, hope we find the honey hole a little quicker next time.

gregg,
You made me jump! Never lean over the gunnel to release a fish for safetychain if he's behind you.

Was that a dig ?
Congratulations on first blood. That boats still a little too pretty to catch fish. Lemme guess, the bait of choice was crappie from GBS's kiddie pool slathered in sweet chili sauce and coors light ? I'll keep an eye out for you guys on the 24th. Make sure when you pass us in the ski tube to wave hi. Look for three guys with bent rods and sturgeon jumpin' everywhere.
We still on for beers afterwards ?

Re: thanks Safety Chain!
Thanks GBS,
Sorry to be the one to draw first blood. I waited for you but someone had too. I waited as long as I could stand it Thanks for the day, it was indeed a pleasure to get out with you and the other guys. Nice boat too!
As far as that rod, of which I have two, never doubt the ability of 50 year old rods and reels purchased at a garage sale  BTW- that crack you heard was just the coating where the rod goes into the handle. Nothing a little more epoxy can't handle
See you in two weeks!
Oh Yeah, don't forget to bring extra EVERYTHING for RB But he did bring the refreshments

Re: thanks Safety Chain!
Are you sure, I think that "crack" was your back when you reefed up on the fish. I thought you were going to re-arrange that fish internal organs

old's not the word!! Safety chains rod it carved out of ancient old growth cedar. The reel is actually the first block and tackle prototype.

Re: thanks Safety Chain!
Yet it outfished all others  Must be the spotted owl scent embedded in the grain or maybe the 50wt gear lube
ORS, naw, just a case of my new gear is better than your old crappy stuff kinda thing. GBS wants me to employ more rod/reel makers. We'll still gonna put the spank on B&C though. That's why I have a twin set of this rod/reel combo

Re: thanks Safety Chain!
SC-
Right on about those old rods. Nothing better. I can't surf fish w/o my gramps' old spinning rod and the aged Diawa that comes with it.
