Default Question on making you own lead head jigs?

Looking to tie my own maraboo lead head jigs for Winter Steelhead. Hopefully the Steelhead jig guru's on this site can help me out. I just got a Lee lead melting pot for Christmas and I'm looking for 1/8oz and 1/4oz molds that will fit either Gamakatsu or Owner jig hooks. I would also consider molds that take other hooks if you feel they are stronger than these brands. If anyone can recommend a particular mold that works great with these hooks it would be greatly appreciated. I also need to find a web site or company I can purchase the bulk hooks from. Thanks very much!!!!

Fishing Maniac - I have the mold for 1/8 and 1/4 ounce lead head jigs. If you want to borrow it you are more than welcome. I am in Milwaukie.

I dont know why the gami or owner hooks wouldnt fit it.

It doesnt take long to crank out a bunch of jigs. First Cast sells quality hooks, you can buy hooks from Mark, or if you dont want to mess with lead, you can use his bead method of making a head.

Email me if you want to pick it up, I will be home for the next 4 days.

I really appreciate your offer Bait O' eggs! At this point I'm in the planning stage and not sure how many I'll be pouring initially. Just trying to get some general info from people who have done it and which brands of molds they used as well as where to buy the hooks. Thanks again for the offer and the info.

Do-it jig molds (brand name)
Both the jig molds and the hooks are available at Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor in Delta Pk.
I also have the molds I'm speaking of if you like to test drive them before you buy. Plus I live in Vancouver.
Let me know if you want to get together and pour up some jigs.
Take care,
Ragnar
