Default not enough bait & a sunburn

That's not a problem we often have, but happened at Cape Horn yesterday. Launched at Rooster rock About 8am, no problem sliding out the channel. Got to favorite hole, and had first shaker in 5 minutes, and continued non-stop. Wife nailed a 45" by 10am so figured had to be another. By noon we were getting tired of the shakers. Moved to a couple other spots with no luck. Finished out the day where we had begun. We began with over 100 smelt, and threw the last one for an offering to the sturgeon gods. We didn't have time to count how many shakers we released. Made for a fun day anyway, and the skunk is off for both of us.
Caution to bigger boats, we scrubbed mud at the mouth of the channel in our 17' sled on the return trip. A cluster at the ramp with all the recreational boaters, and seen one jerk the axle off the trailer, at the end of the ramp, trying to pull out.

Same story here on Friday up from the wall, fished in 30' of water on the flats and went through all the bait with the daughter in two and a half hours. Had two within an inch of keeping, and both had red tipped tails, which I think means that they just got out of the salt water.

Cool..Hey if you're really bored and want some good entertainment...there's a new cafe/lounge right where you launch your boat at Camas/Washougal.

Perfect...sip some cold brewskies and watch the boat ramp show...

Should make for some great entertainment.

That sounds like a great idea F-M , the only problem is I would have to drink to much to be able to stand the show I might see  .

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Red tips to fins are one of the first indications of stress. It could be from a number of reasons. The more stressed the fish the more the red coloration spreads. It starts at the tips of the fins and ends with large red splotches on the belly and starting up the sides. My first guess would be from the warm water. Doesn't take much to start the red coloration (actually blood coming to the surface of the skin) when a few things cumulate.
