Snow, Steelhead, Snafoo on the Coast (PICS)!!
Well braved the coast passes on 12-29 in the early AM and spent a little more time than I intended getting over. There was fruits fer my labor and nothing else in the world like snow and steelhead!!
The picture of a coastal pass and the kewl locals who saved my a.. after a three hour interlude when ODOT abandoned us!
The hardest fish I have worked for all season, three hour drought w/o catching anything! It was a dark and small fish that fought with the best of them.
Here is my only keeper at the end of the day. I met fellwo Ifisher Spinnerman shortly after and forfieted the hole to hime which he limited out at!
Here is the trip home, and as u can see that ODOT really worked hard this day to straighten things out.

Ty, I think I met you as I and a buddy were walking out with our limits. I was the one who looked like he just washed ashore. (I usually fall in). I hope you did well, my son caught his first completely unassisted Steelie today, so I am feeling great.

Looked like you had your work cut out just getting there to be able to fish. Then you got the bonus fish on the bank to make your day. I love snowy days.

Are you saying you were stuck up there in that pass and ODOT drove off and left you stuck? I could not imagine leaving somone along the road in that mess, thats just not cool.

What a difference a few years make. I can remember many recent snow free years in the pass.

Re: Snow, Steelhead, Snafoo on the Coast (PICS)!!
You know it's too bad ODOT let you down. I think that the road you came over on was the only one with any snow that day. What a bunch of slackers to not come to the rescue of some guys going fishing in conditions that were questionable. Glad it turned out OK though. Better make sure we cut the ODOT budget again in February just to show them we mean business!
