Default Float w/ Jig - sliding or fixed weight?

When fishing with a sliding float and jig setup - would a fixed or sliding weight be best?

Fixed weight, just below the bobber

Gotcha - guess the sliding weight would only make sense if I were drifting without a float?

I use a standard drift rig with an adjustable float above the snap swivel and a leader that is a bit longer than usual (30-36 inches)

There have been many posts on this subject in the recent past...its really a matter of personal preference. Sometimes a fixed float will allow your lure to drop into the strike zone a bit faster than a slider setup.

It is a personal pref thing but because I am not fishing very deep, usually 2-4ft. I go with fixed. But I will fish some of the same water(deeper) with a sliding bobber and eggs.
