Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
All I can say is that today was one heck of a day....
It was one I will never forget...
My buddy Hogback put on a fishing clinic today on Bobber & Jigs...I never saw so many bobbers go under in a short amount of time...These were violent take downs as well...
All in all we kept our 4 and released several others...
Randy, as always it is a pleasure to fish with you...
When you have a guide saying don't get too close as we were leaving because they didn't want to get burned...I suppose that is the ultimate respect...Everyone on the river today was great company as well...
See you tomorrow for Day 11's report
OBTW - I want to give a shout out to "Tilla" & "FishaLot", it was great sitting next to you guys today and enjoyed your company...
A very happy "Hog Hunter"
Hail "Hogback" the new Jig Master
The take of the day

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
HEY Terry with all the fish you have caught this year you must eat fish every night. I think that 20 fish is the limit for steelhead and salmon the last I looked. Do you really need all those fish to eat? You guys are having quite a year. I get to go in the AM to see if I can find a hungover steelie that will bite my hook. Are you still fishin the same place I saw lastweek?

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
John,
You know the place...
I have given so much fish to people who don't go that I am quite the popular person...
One of my neighbors, who is Vietnamese and is a great guy sees me coming down the culdesac with my boat and he comes a running...
Fishing has been pretty good and when you can buy hatchery tags and give fish to people who want it...it justr equals good times...
OBTW, Seigal is on his way over to load up software on the new GPS...
Call me John...

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
KHH , you guys were great company and easy to follow (just listening for the banjos and coon hounds in the dawns early light) Like I said, we had to move on before someone inferred we might actually learn something from the masters.
It was Fishalot's day in our boat using "goofy" bait.

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
should be able to catch limits everyday when you fish the ponds. Sounds like fun sitting in one hole with a bunch of people. Was there a snack bar close by?

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
Otolith,
No need for comment...
I will continue to post despite what people say or think...It is not limits everyday fishing in the pond as "Lund" puts it...
Some days are definately better than others but as I always have said...if I don't catch a fish its not the end of the world...I just enjoy time fishing with friends & family.
I have been honost in my reports and I happened to have off 2 weeks of work during the holidays and I am just fishing hard...
People who know me or have seen me on the river knows I am just a goofy hillbilly having a good time...
OBTW - Why did Belotti call those 2 time outs before Minnesota kicked the winning field goal
If he was in the NFL...he would be getting his resume ready

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
It's all good KHH  I can't stand it when people say that so you know where I'm coming from. I will be fishing in the morning, however not on a coastal river.
Man you sure fish hard and I'm glad to see you are not in to . Have fun on the next few days of you adventure  and on.

UG....
Its no surprise nor secret...Some days I go there and can't buy a bite and somedays are like yesterday...
I don't know why I am not there right now...
I called off my trip thi morning and am doing something I have needed to be doing for a while and that is clean my home office & scrub the kitchen floor for my wife...
Junior "Hog Hunter" is pitching in as well so I will be in the usuall spot tomorrow.

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
LOL - probably the most fished spot on the most fished river in the state - and for a reason, I just cant stand it anymore.

You need to change your monicker to Oregon Steelhead Slayer. You don't hunt Kentucky Hogs anymore, you catch Oregon Fish!

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
There were a ton of fish in the river. We have been catching with jigs at a rate of 10/1 and got our first yesterday on a jig then we got to a hole where we intantly had several in the net with eggs. We landed eleven in that hole before moving on. They wouldn't take a jig even though we tried for 50 casts or so. Great job guys!

Re: Metal Head Mayhem (Day 10 Slaughter)
The area is not hard to find foxer. Put in at Donaldson's about 5:30am Sat. morning and row up river about 50 yard's.
You will be joined by another 20 boats trying to do the same thing. Good luck!
