Default Tacklebox Titillation *GASP*

I don't know about the rest of you, but at times I just feel drawn to go open up my tacklebox and stare at it. One of the best parts of getting a new lure is re-arranging everything and deciding which item needs to go and moving everything around plotting and planning for the next fishing trip so I have quick draw access to the exact item I want. I know it isn't much but I love it so here it is.

Lets see yours!

After I got going on wigglers I had to move the Kwikfish out.

You spend way too much time not fishing. That tackle box is way too neat. I have at least that many wiggle warts just hanging around the inside of my boat just waiting to get their chance. Another 8 tacle boxes of more wiggle warts that I keep underneath one of the side seats in my jet boat. Another 6 dozen at home of extras just in case and then there are the ones at my girlfriends house that she wishes i would do something with. She wanted to decorate the Christmas tree with wiggle warts this year. Needless to say I am wiggle wart poor. On top of that I jus ordered 24 dozen more. My girlfriend wants to know if there is a place for me like AA only called WWA (wiggle warts anonymous). What scares me is I think she is serious.

My wife got me one of these for Christmas. I keep opening it, over and over again - it's always empty. I may have to fill it. That's it, I'm going to FMS!

That's almost too pretty to fish with...

It looks pretty thorough but your missing some fish blood and some spilled marie's shrimp scent with an open bottle on the side. I hope you at least have fish scales and rusty hooks underneath that stuff.

You are clearly either A. a guy who doesn't have kids or B. a guy who doesn't go fishing enough or C. much too organized.
I like the tackle box but I prefer the one that Oregonredside showed us with boxes that pull out to allow you to have different boxes for different kinds of fishing. I have the tried and true blue "guides" box from plano with multiple boxes inside and in the top. It allows me to switch out the boxes depending on the kind of fish and the kind of fishing I am doing. To each his own. This week for winter steelhead the big kwikfish box gets pulled out as does the leader keeper with the big hooks and in goes the wiggle warts, hotshots, pink worms, marabou jigs, and spoons.

But the fold out tray style clearly works for you since you like to mess around with your gear.

I'm just a beginner at this. Started in Sept. made 15 trips and got 3 Cohos. I'm hoping to properly 'season' the box this coming year.

Sounds like springers could be a blast. Right now I just look at the box ORS posted and think 'Wow...some day'.

Gotta ease the wife into this though ya know. I'm working on the 'We need a boat' angle right now.

Course my son is fully on board. I come home with a new lure and he's right there.

'You got a new lure Dad, you gonna put it in the tacklebox, can I see?'

This whole thing is a blast! Just pumps me up for that incredible fish on feeling again.

I was told by an all knowing fisherman that a clean organized tackle box was the sign of a sick mind. Can't say I agree but I never organize anymore.

I think that tackle box is great. I keep mine organized by type of lure, then size. I do not quite have all of them pointing in one direction though.

I tried to take a picture of mine, but it's too dark in my pocket, and the flash wouldn't work.

I love to experience my tackle, too. I just do it by braille. Stick hand in pocket... "Oh! There is my jig that's still in the plastic!"

"Oh! There is my old jig!...Pliers, slinkies, OUCH!-- loose hook! Ugh... and there is that wiggler that is all stuck in the lining of my pocket, several times.. One of these days I'm going to work that out of there... uh huh...

Other pocket... Ugh! What is that smell??? Sandshrimp? OH NO!!!!!!!

Sheeesh! Which one of my NINE  tackle boxes do you want to look at??????

The one for Springers?
The one for Ocean Kings/Coho?
The one for Steelhead?
The one for Trout?
The one for Chum & Pinks?
The one for bobber fishing?
The one filled with spinners & components?
The two crammed with un-used, over-used, mis-used tackle that has been bequethed to my youngest daughter?

How about the drawers in my office holding extra lead for when I get around to pouring my own weights?

Or how about the untold reams of fishing stuff/pamphlets/info/brochures, videos, books, maps etc.

I've organized, labeled, re-organized & relabeled everything a couple of times when things got outta hand.

But thankfuly I believe I've reached a certain saturation point to where I got enuff stuff..........riiigghht.

Cosmic Suzie,

Hard to tell by the pic but looks like you got a Brad's BW-29 and BW-08 on the top shelf of your tackle box.

Those are two hot coho killers and they work well for steelhead also.

Don't listen to the Bug Flicker, he'll tell you the BW-16 is the hot one.
Actually it looks like you might have one on the third shelf but hard to tell.

Ya know what I like best about your box is I didn't see any corkies.

Not that corkies can't be used legitamately.

Yep there's a BW-08 and I got the BW-29 after reading about it here. Got the BW-16 same way. Same-O with a Paris Hilton Kwikfish.

Caught my very first Coho on the BW-08 and he chomped it so hard it filled with water  . Dang, wrecked my favorite lure! Special 50 mile round trip to get another one and very next day on the water got a 32" Coho with it  . Got my 3rd Coho, also 32" on the BW-17, Big White Salmon river on Nov. 7th. That's the last time I've been fishing.

Never caught anything with the crippled herring but one day was out with a friend and this guy throws this lure in his boat saying its the hot ticket and they can't keep the Chinooks off of them but the color he gave us doesn't work .

Then he lets us know that there aren't anymore within a 100 miles cause they went to all the GI Joes stores and bought them up.

Well, on a Delta park excursion to FMS and Joes on day in October I found some, they're to the right of the herrings.

Can't wait for the coming season. All this stuff brings back the joy of being a kid again.

Bug Flicker - That is sweeeeet!

Full Freezer - Come on, lets see them!

Green Pirate - I got the 'Paris Hilton' name from ZaQ and Flatfish in the 'How much for your favorite Kwikie??' post a few weeks ago.

The second one in is a Brads BW-37, it looks dark in the pic but is actually chrome with chartreuse and green.

You are WAAAAAAAY too organized.
My tackle box usually takes a beating. Dropping it, rolling it down the bank, kids going through it, or just giving it a good kick, when I lose a fish!!!

Safety Chain -- that reminds me of a skit on Saturday Night Live years ago called "The Anal Retentive Fisherman" (featuring Phil Hartman as Mr. Anal Retentive, and I believe Wayne Gretsky was the guy in the boat fishing with him). Phil was demonstrating how he files his baits alphabetically and ignoring a frantic Gretsky who was fighting a fish, and eventually beating it over the head with the landing net as it came out of the water to try and eat him. Funny stuff.

Safety Chain,

Cooooooooool, but Oh My Gosh!

How can you be that organized? I would have to shoot myself if I had to keep everything in it's place like that!

But, Good for you.

BTW, how's the marriage going?

[note to self: not everyone this organized has marital problems]

Just Kidding; seriously, that setup looks really sweet. I have the interchangeable boxes for my guides model plano box. All I do is switch out the boxes for the Species O'day.

Boatdog,

this actually helps with the marriage and kids too. Garage is much more organized and I don't have everything all over. I bet my kids have to clean my garage at least twice a week from all their stuff all over, bikes, toys, etc.

I hate a messy garage. It's my man cave for when she is on the rampage.

What you don't see is the flambeau storage box with the big lead, organized by type (pyramids and cannon balls) and size. Right GBS

Inventory today!

If you were referring to the cripled herring in the glo/chartruese like the one you have in your box, I can voutch for it being a deadly chinook killer!

A friend told me about that jig years ago and it took a total of 5 minutes or less fishing the lower Lewis River when I got a beaut in the chops.

Unfortunately they can be used as a snagging tool also but they are very effective in catching them the right way.

Later!
Oh, and happy new year every body's!

While I dont have a picture of my vest to show, I must agree. I enjoy finding space for new tackle, and organizing my vest when I am not fishing. On eveings at home, I usually put in an old N.W. hunter or some similar video, and spend the evening tying up hooks for my pips, or making slinkies. Great way to spend an evening
