Re: Whats Your Boats Name
"....you ever think about givin that old boat a name?, 's bad luck to have a boat without a name yaknow..." ~ forrest gump
Hey airborne, how ya been?
Boat names huh? "cirrhosis of the river" has quite a story behind it. Recently purchased a new drifter (new to me) but its to nice to name it that.
Had one called " Mad Wife II? " (the name was unfortunatly inspired by mad wife #1, and everyone else on the river who had a wife at home)
I think its available now (the boat name is also  )
Good question, mine needs a name as well...tough one, I dont think I made half the effort to come up with my kids names! (son was named after the street we lived on when my wife concieved believe it or not..."Spencer") My mom had a fit when she heard that.
Ive said enough...good luck, tight lines.

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
Very interesting the way our boat got it's name"R&C's Star Keeper". When I met my wife, online, the song "Keeper of the Stars" was playing on the radio, hence the name. Been married 5 years the 17th of July.

My Dad named his boat "WUZ FUZZ" since he used to be a cop, I think he is on WUZ FUZZ III now.

No official name, but my fishing buddies call the boat "IAAJ" or Its All About John since I point out the only real reason they are in the boat is to net my fish!!

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
Wife's name is Dawn, thus the boat's name is "First Light". We had real christening ceremony so as to not have bad karma associated with the new boat. My old boat was named "How Nice" - my dad's boat and name before it was mine... his very favorite joke was associated but I'm afraid I can't tell it here.... sorry. zip

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
By default my boat is named the Seahawk, manufacturer, Chris Craft, put the name on the side in huge letters. They should wear off in another 5 years or so.
I have always wanted to give it a name with the word "reel" in it, but use the word "reel" to mean "real". I have several:
REEL COOL
REEL GOOD
REEL FINE
REEL CRAZY
REEL SMOKIN'
Can anyone come up with some more "reel" good ones.

As a youngster growing up in North Bend,my father was an avid salmon fisherman. Of the several boats that came and went from our driveway, two stick out. The first was the Up Chuck and the other was the Sore Ass.

I think I told this story before, but, My boat is named "Wreckless" because I had a "little" boating accident in my last one.
I have 3 screws in my hip to prove it!!
My duck boat is named the "Quacker Attacker"

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
My first boat, a 1955 28' mahogany hulled Chris Craft was pretty much a wreck when I got it and in spite of endless hours, never got a lot better. She was the "Halfa".
Second real boat was my Willie drifter. It bobs and bounces along through the white water, so I named her the Ouzel.
In keeping with the water birds begining with the letter "O", the sled is the Osprey. (now the Osprey II)

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
I was driving into work yesterday morning on the banfield and saw a old drifter. I did a double take when I noticed that instead of clack a craft, the guy had named it the crapa a craft...The name fit the looks of the boat! The name on my drifter..."Catch My Drift".

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
My 19' Alumaweld is named the "Every Penny II". The first Every Penny was a 44' Pacemaker my best friend owned and lived on in Gig Harbor for over 20 years. When he died suddenly 3 years ago, I decided my next new boat would be the EPII.
And given all the Boat Jewelry I've been buyin' since I got her last July, I'd say it's pretty accurate..... Tim

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
My boat name is the same as my moniker (Wright Angle) Three years ago my old boat was broke down during Springer fishing and I was just not getting many fish from the beach so I thought to my self that Im just not approaching the fish from the right angle (ie: my boat) so when I ordered my new boat I named it Wright Angle (My last name is Wright and I angle so there is a double meaning, a play on words) now Im always fishing from the Wright Angle..
My best friends boat has no name but I tried to get him to name it ruthless as we are when we fish, but his mother in-laws name is Ruth and it just wouldn't look right.. but I kind of like the double meaning..

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
I was going to name my boat “Summer Fun” after my wife, but now that we are recently divorced I think “Topless Fun In The Sun” is the new name of choice. Also with the double meaning, I still don’t have a windshield or top for it yet.

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
When I had a boat... a small little wooden boat, it was named The Cosmic Muffin after a Jimmy Buffet book I read. I just loved that name!
I totally refinished and refiberglassed it all by myself! Then, I painted it blue and white and painted Cosmic Muffin on the back.
It rowed really nicely except for the time I made an anchor out of a milk jug filled with rocks and forgot to pull it when I headed back across the lake. It was a tough row! I dredged the whole bottom of the lake and had a weed ball bigger than my boat by the time I realized it!
DOH!

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
I don't have names for any of my boats. But some of the best ones I have seen are.
1. Filet Show
2. The Cunning Lingus
3. Succesful Litigation (This was on a 100+ foot motor yacht moored down at riverplace marina on the Willamette)

Re: Whats Your Boats Name
Some of these names and stories are just too funny!!
Our new Edwing boat will be named "Irish Wake".

"Fishguts"
It's usally covered with gore.
Someday I would like to have a boat called
"Oncorhynchus Mortem" - Salmon Killer!
