Default UHMW instalation

Does anyone know the details to installing UHMW to the bottom of an alluminum drift boat ??? Also how does the stuff work ?? Thanks for any info

I wouldn't do it. UHMW weighs a lot and an aluminum drifter is heavy enough as it is. Stick with gluvit or whatever.

Hey Grog,
This stuff is the same stuff that they make kitchen cutting boards out of. I had it in 3/8" on the bottom if my wood boat and it worked great. 3/8" was kind of overkill as it is tougher than anything out there. A buddy of mine used 1/4" sheets on his aluminum boat. If I remember correctly, he used construction adhesive to glue it to the bottom. It worked fine and did not add alot of weight.

I'm not sure what you have in mind. I use UHMW on my tailer to slide my boat off eaiser and also used it to make up a couple cutting boards, plier holder, knife holder. You can also purchase it in tape form (sticky on one side) in diffrent thickneses.You can purchase scrap pieces (resonably priced)from laird Plastics. I hope this helps.
