Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I'm looking for the best pair of breathable waders I can get for $100 (that's all I have). I was looking at the cabelas brands and the hodgmen brands. looking for some opinions.
Thanks much

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I have a pair of these: Cabelas Waders Dry Plus
I've had them for two seasons and they're still like new! For the money, this is the best pair of lightweights I've owned. Stay away from Joe's Outdoor brand - I had three pair - all leaked in both feet after one trip.
Good Luck!

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I just received a pair of Hodgman breathable waders for Christmas. I used them on the 26th and they are sooo comfortable. I am not trying to sell you on Hodgman; I am just saying that breathable waders are much more comfortable than neoprene.

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I got a set of Cabela's DryPlus GII waders when I replaced my neoprenes. Got a year of light wear on them and so far they've been great. Definitely go with full chest waders. You may never need to wade out up to your hips but it's nice to know you can if you want to.

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
You need to be a bit more careful with breathables. I know we all have probably left our neoprenes in the back of the car wet for a day or too before. This will break down the breathable material. Also, what ever you do, stay away from joes outdoor brand. They are terrible. I shelled out some bucks for a pair of simms and they are great and have a top notch warrenty. Once you try breathables you will never be able to go back to neoprene. If I was you though i would get a nice pair of neoprene with that 100.00 or save up to get a better pair of breathables. Just my .02

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
i had been looking for waders the last three weeks. i have been on ebay for simms or patagonia but all kept going over the 200 mark which is about 50 to 75 dollars more to than my budget. after going to joes and researching bass pro and cabela's, i have deceided to purchase the cabela's. i am glad to read the upbeat comments concerning these waders.

I have to agree will SteelSlammer. It only takes onetime. Leaving your breathable waders in the trunk to long destroys the material, but you won't notice it -until you get out there fish .
Go neoprene until you can afford or they make a respectable( can take the abuse) breathable.

I have the Hodgman Guidelites. They have been great so far. (I used them all last winter) No problems at all. I just hang them up to dry when I get home.

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
If you're looking for waders with a life time warranty that can be repair and aren't manufactured in a distant land look no further than USIA Waders . I'll even cut you a Ifish good guy deal. THese waders out preform ANY of the above mentioned waders on this thread. Lighter much much more durable! ANd manufactured in St. Helens Oregon. Come get a factory tour when you pick'em up! The last pair of waders you'll ever have to buy.

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
Thanks for all the input. I already have 2 pairs of neoprenes. I'm looking for somthing that would be more confortable to use in the DB. Looks like I will settle with the Cabelas dry Plus. I will look into Simms this summer when $$ situation in better.
Thanks Again

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I have a pair of the Hodgman Wade Lite Guide Pants (waist-hi), which I like a lot. You give up a little deep wading ability next to the chest-highs, but the convenience factor is a slam dunk for those of us with small bladders, and I have less problem with overheating if I have to do some extra hiking. Durability has not been a problem for me so far (2 years). While we're at it, does anybody know who makes the Dry Plus models for Cabela's? Could it also be Hodgman?

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I have a pair of the Hodgeman WadeLite's. For the price ($95) I have been quite happy. They have an outside pocket as well as inside and have nice gravel guards. Also have a little thicker neo booties (4 mm compared to some to others 3mm)Some of the cheaper breatheables don't have gravel guards, I strongly recommend getting some that do...nothing worse than new waders with a hole in the foot from an errant rock!

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
Another positive review for Hodgman's Guidelite! I have not tried the Simms and other high-end breathables, but I'm satisfied with the durability of my Guidelite so far!

Re: Best breathable waders for $100 ???
I've been researching breathables for women. Captain Kojo I want to go to the factory and buy those USIA ones. Where is the factory? I did look on the internet site but I had no idea they were manufactured in St. Helens--that's not too far from home: what's the special ifish deal? E2
