Default Second Depth Display on Lowrance

Ok gang, I'd appreciate any help on this one:

I have an X-85 fishfinder on the Little Willie. It is mounted in the locking compartment below the gunwale on the port side towards the stern, so that when I am at the tiller, I have to stoop to see the depth. I would like to buy a device (that shows only depth) that I could mount somewhere else in the stern so that I didn't have to take my eyes off the water to see whether or not I am about to run aground. Do I have to get another transdeucer? I have looked on the lowrance website but they don't list this as an available option. I'd appreciate any advice.

Riverkeeper,I believe that Lowrance makes a switch box that splits between two sonars to one transducer. You can then go back and forth between the two sonars by turning the rotary switch. The part is SB-6BK in Lowrances website under accessories. Hooked up to a 3500 in-dash digital depth guage this would probably meet your needs. Hope this helps.

If your transducer is mounted on the stern, you will know about running aground before you locator shows it. Especially if you are running on plane.

Riverkeeper,
What you need it to just take me with you so I can read the depth while you steer the boat.
I'm cheaper than another depth finder too.

Thats what I've heard

Maybe you could just sit in the bow and yell at me when it gets shallow.
