Default Guide shop eggs???

I'm not trying to start anything here or pointing fingers but last fall I purchased some "fresh" coho eggs from the Guide Shop. I cured the whole skeins in Borax, packed them in Borax and froze them. When I thawed out a skein to fish last week they turned to mush and only were good for one or two casts before they turned white. I have always cured my eggs in Borax and have had great results up till now. I'm wondering if the eggs were frozen before they were purchased. Has anyone else purchased eggs from the Guide Shop? Did you cure them in Borax? What were your results? I hate to think that all the eggs I did got from them are going to turn out this way. What a waste of time and money.

I've always had to dry my eggs before packing in borax to get a good product and I do it in pieces instead of whole skeins. If you froze whole skeins in borax I would imagine there would be way too much moisture in them and would probably fish much like frozen uncured eggs would, just about how you described.

I have always cured whole skeins that's why I can't understand how and why this has happened.

Have purchased uncured unfrozen eggs 3 times from The Guide Shop. The last time there was a problem with freight and they arrived warm. The Guide Shop made that right to my satisfaction and the first two times the eggs were great.

Good eggs, good people, good service. No complaints here.

BTW Go hawks!
