Default Molalla Condition Report

Lots of talk about floating the Mo here lately so I thought I'd offer this in case you were thinking about it. Below Arrowhead, there's a large downed tree that crosses the main channel. At 1500 cfs Saturday, the drift boat made it under by inches. Today, at 3500, that wouldn't happen. A mile or so below the tressle (which, by the way, is cleared out this year) at the sharp left bend immediately below the power line crossing, there's a large tree completely blocking the main channel on river right. You can't see it. The view of the tree is blinded by a large root wad above it. There's a narrow shoot at river left, above the root wad, that is passable, but squirrelly, at 1500 cfs. Take it. The right channel is completely closed, and the upriver row once you see it is very difficult (I did it) and the water too deep to line a boat back up river. Tight lines.
